Because A CERTAIN SOMEONE tipped off a random journalist who made an article for the fabulous journal outlet that is the “atlantic” and now people act like its a problem and not something that was dying off like the rest of the fandom.

It isn’t about being able to filter it. It’s about the fact that they made a progressive change and fell back. Before they were just hosting art. But this decision was direct catering to nazi sympathizers.

Another small artist requesting a DNP. I was a hardcore fan for a really long time, and I really loved ponies, but this ain’t it. Bronies are cheering on nazism and fascism and making it their own identity. Conventions have been appearing more and more alt-right and Nazi worship over the years. Silence and inaction is complacence. Reversal of progress is downright evil. I can no longer in good conscious associate myself with a fandom of hate of something I loved so dearly.

You weren’t, you made some edgy joke, like most people. I was interacting with you back then, and I wasn’t and still aren’t, a nazi. Right wing maybe, but pure nazis, they are far less present than people claim.
 
The fact that those pictures didn’t turn you into a nazi too should tell you that it’s not pure black and white.

Filtering it is actually a fantastic option and I support it wholeheartedly. Which is why I’m filtering the entirety of my artwork from the site.
 
If you make a decision, have the guts to stick by it. Especially if it concerns quite literal nazi propaganda.

If you looked at the other thread you’d know the vast majority weren’t “nazi sympathizer”, and were protesting the principle of it than the art itself. YOu again overestimate the impact aryanne has on this website.

Filtering tags won’t stop this place from being a breeding ground for hate-fueled people, most stemming from 4chan.

that is the root of the issue, unfortunately. a simple definition would be any groups who killed more people than nazis (communists and mongols are the easy answers there)  
ultimately censoring anything that isnt already illegal in the US (or whatever country’s laws you are following) comes down to the personal ideals of the person enforcing the rules

I actually do. I regret giving a platform to nazi ideology, even in a joking sense. Too many people who post Aryanne believe in actual nazi ideals, and even more are ignorant to the fact that they’re essentially advertising their support in that ideology.
 
But keep posting 5 year old pictures though, you got me on the ropes for sure.

“Dark” for sure theres some (like the one with the machine gun, though its an edit) but “propaganda” I don’t see it.

I KNOW you changed, but the irony that the platform you use now (twitter) slam people left and right for stuff they did 20 years ago as if they didn’t change either is funny.

I think there is some critical information being missed here. This is in Rule 0:

This bulletpoint has been on my list of things to fix for a long time, because it is hard to parse. Put simply, somewhat buried in this is the idea that it is not okay to upload images that are themselves racist. Quite a few images have been deleted over the 6 years this has been policy, and many images (some of which I personally felt should stay at the time, before I was staff) were when it was first implemented.
 
The recent policy changes were about banning content that was just Aryanne, like, standing there, not actively doing anything. By reversing them, we have not put ourselves in a position where there is free rein to engage in racist behavior.

The question still stands then: Why not delete them in support of the ban? Why defy the mod’s own ruling but then suddenly get mad when they take it away? The time to right your wrongs was then, not now.

This is my precise point. We’re in this mess BECAUSE their was never a firm stance taken. It was always “just hide it if you don’t like it”. But hiding it does nothing to combat it whatsoever. And centrists always spout the “you have to expose evil ideology to sunlight to debate it” line but suddenly want to shove it under the carpet when it comes to Nazis.
 
And moot believed in the exact same philosophy of “just ignore it” until his site became a right-wing radicalization chamber. I’ve been on 4chan long enough to know that style of moderation is bunk and only creates strife down the line. The exact same thing has happened on Derpibooru. Posting my old artwork just proves that I know what the hell I’m talking about. I CONTRIBUTED to it. And I’ve had enough.

Combat what? The comment section? I’m all for muting the comment section of all nazi pictures, and all BLM too if you want. DB should be a hosting site, not a place to argue about politics anyway.

For what it’s worth, from my perspective as a soyboy SJW socialist, this is a terrible idea.
 
Do we really want to cave and turn a place where the right-wing is in the minority into an actual far-right echo chamber? With the reversal of the rules, lefties are just as free as they were before to post lefty art to this website and we can make epic and based art of Aryanne being thrown in the trash, but by taking a pledge to never post to this site at all you’ve effectively surrendered in the battle for the soul of this community.
 
Additionally, the optics of this are absolutely abysmal, as people taking this pro-censorship pledge start to embody the “censorship mad SJW” boogeyman that demagogues love to harp on about, legitimizing the paranoia of people being dragged down the far-right pipeline. It doesn’t matter how righteous or courageous you think your cause is when most people see you as crazy.
 
For those reasons, this DNP pledge plays directly into the hands of the far-right, and I encourage everybody who has so far taken this pledge to reconsider their actions.
