A case probably not for aliasing, but interesting nonetheless:

So the pink haired character has been around in the fandom for years, and the red haired one seems to be recent, definitely not predating the former. Going through the latter’s Tumblr as seen here, Velvet seems to be a secondary name for the character, and all the posts on the Tumblr are tagged with both names anyway.
 
For consistency’s sake, it seems it would be better to use the oc:lilith tag only, or at least unlink the alias so that oc:velvet only brings up one of the characters. Or, maybe it doesn’t matter at all. Whatever.

Then you’re asking for the wrong thing to be un-aliased. If Muslim implies hijab, then fix that, yeah, but right now Muslimshy (the tag they asked about) currently does, in fact, imply hijab in practice.

Well duh. You’re searching for aliased tag, -aliased tag essentially. It’d be the same as searching for ts, -twilight sparkle and actually expecting images to show up.

OK, it looks like on March 31, a user went and added oc:lilith to pretty much all the images it is tagged with now. I’m also fairly sure that I did velvet -> oc:velvet before that, what with it having an alias and all. How recent is that tumblr pic? And why does the OC have an aka? Idunno either, really.

Okay I had quite a look through the tag changes on those, and what images they’re on. I have to ask: is there any, any reason at all, why we shouldn’t just alias

For one, there’s literally hundreds of pics out there tagged just ‘anus’ that look exactly the same as the ones under the other tags? And two, the other tags appear to be tagged by very few users (like, over 90% of them was added by maybe a handful of users), while everyone just uses anus?  
I haven’t done anything (yet) but unless there’s some really good reason these two have to exist I see no point in them having to exist.

Ponut is completely different from anus. Technically, it’s “anatomically correct horse anus looking like a donut”. Replacing “ponut” tag with just “anus” is as disastrous as replacing “anatomically correct” with “genitals” or “irl human” with “human” (by the way, why no implication on the latter?).
 
Not really sure about “puckered asshole”. English is my second language, so at first I thought that it’s similar to “puffy anus” from e621. And it seems to be used as one. But technically, it’s probably incorrect…
 
I don’t think you should base decisions on how many users apply a tag. From what I’ve seen, there’re not enough tag zealots like on e621, so a lot of pictures are poorly tagged (only most popular pictures can be expected to be tagged with all important ones) and a lot of tags are underused (very few people bother to tag with “obvious”, but important tags like “vaginal” or “horsecock”). But that doesn’t mean that replacing “vaginal” with “vagina” or “horsecock” with “penis” would help the situtation.

I care only about anuses, but there’s no logical way to extract only the anus part from the equation. Considering tagging with anatomically correct is very inconsistent (most people don’t know horse anatomy good enough and tag human clitoris and human vaginal lips as anatomically correct), so the situation is even worse.
 
And now that I think aboout it, anatomically correct anus is a subcase of a ponut. Ponuts can be anatomically incorrect (e.g. impossibly large ponut), they can accompany anatomically incorrect genitals, they can be placed on mythological creatures etc.
 
TL;DR: No.

I have a feeling there are probably people who want to see dem ponuts without having to complex tag searches every time they want to check. AKA, are watching the ponut tag specifically.

unless something’s changed that I’m not aware of, implications aren’t absolutely mandatory and incorrectly implicated tags can be removed. So either literally no one has done that or there aren’t any cases where it doesn’t apply, I don’t know, I didn’t search through all nearly 200 images to check. Let me do that.
 
And nope. Not a single case where she isn’t wearing one, or in the case of some text-y meme type posts, its mentioned. Though a couple examples of other characters in hijabs being tagged as muslimshy. Is hijab implying muslimshy? In that case, don’t eliminate the implication, reverse it.

Shoutout to whoever suggested changing the the implication for artist:hiu to artist:kolshica and the mod that approved it.

The original version here is a year old, which even says this character has no relation to the pink-haired Velvet and prioritizes the other name. So yeah, it just makes more sense to go with the lilith name.
