@BigMax
I have no idea what you’re saying. :I
Did the artist specifically ask for the old name to be buried and never spoke of again or something? you should be saying that because right now you’re not making much sense…
Unless there’s a good reason, aliasing alt names is only common sense to avoid issues since the name “smittyg” is still all over the old web.
@Vree
Think about it: all the old stuff was tagged with the previous artist tag.
The tag is now different, but it’s not aliased - like it happened, for example, to ponideathmarch that’s become drbdnv recently.
There’s a reason for that.
@BigMax
Oh, that’s cool then! I wish you had said that right away.
I actually never heard of the guy until about 24 hours ago - I just noticed the same art being under the old name on a number of different sources (Pbooru, Eq Daily, twentypercentcooler, forum threads etc.)
(which kinda makes me question how effective this disappearing act is going to be, but hey we do what we can)
Why is Tirek aliased to Lord Tirek? The G4 character has a title while the G1 character doesn’t, so Lord Tirek shouldn’t result in images of the other Tirek.
@Sjogre
You can still use tirek,g1 and tirek,g1 to g4 to search for screencaps and art about the old Tirek or different artistic adaptations.
People’d have kep using “tirek” for the g4 character regardless of what you’d have wanted to do anyway; it is better this way.
(Also, the character’s name is still actually Tirek. He introduces him as “lord” in his first appearance, but is referred to with only his first name for the rest of two episodes.)
