Switching Background Pony #'s

Is there a way to switch background pony #‘s on a single thread? Like for example on the unpopular opinions thread. It could be useful to not appear as the same person so that it’s only the ideas not the person making the argument. Although I guess their could be unfortunate consequences so I would understand if that’s not allowed.

There is no way to do this, and it’s not something that we intend to add. If present, it would open up a very easy sockpuppeting opportunity for users with malicious intent.
