Server Migration: "new server, who dis?"

I don’t know what you ponies did, but I feel like mobile works so much better now. Am I crazy or did the new server do this?

We’re still on the old server, but glad to hear that the site works well for you regardless :p

Just a quick update, we’ve picked a time for the migration: 5am EST.

So, is the “20% faster” line just a reference to “20% cooler”, or is it actually the increase in network speed of the servers or something?

Images from new server not downloading.

I’m having lots of problems just viewing pictures right now.

It may be just a short lasting glitch, but the some larger images aren’t loading at all.

tags don’t seem to be updatable, i’m assuming thats just a temporary bug. gotta iron out those changelings.

Most of the issues are waiting for everything to catch up, unfortunately. We’re kind of bound by about a five minute window before anything we do takes effect en masse on prod.
 
Edit: Alright so all the image/tag issues are fixed now that everything has propagated properly.

It may be partially due to the placebo effect, but the site does seem noticeably faster on my phone.
 
20% faster? More like (√|-20(20)|)/4 time(s) faster.

I can tell something has happened, because saving tag changes and voting is noticeably faster now. My internet is currently too slow to see any other possible speedups, though.

The server itself isn’t actually much faster, but the network should be.
