This happens when a line that starts with a colon follows an empty line. (Unless nothing precedes the empty line, in which case the empty line just doesn’t exist.)
Escaping the colon fixes this, although the “escape” tool button doesn’t escape colons.
Escaping the new line right before the colon also works; it gives a slightly little different spacing. (As an escaped newline does.)
Unless I escape:nope escape isn’t working either 🤷

I have actually reported the issue with colons before. I figured out when it happens, but not why.
