Is anyone else having an issue where half the images load just fine and the other half just sit with “Waiting for img1.derpicdn.net…”
 
And when I say half it’s like split right down the middle. Behold:

Yep, I noticed it a while ago.  
Quite amusing, actually.
 
Of course, it’s a matter of server balancing, but one server responds with some delay.

Well, it was, but we’ve just pushed a tweak out which should improve things a bit, hopefully. It’ll take some time to “take” across all images - those URIs are cached.

Deviantart has always been a hoopty site when it comes to coping with the difference between http and https– it logs you out whenever there’s a conflict– and occasionally direct image URLs just plain don’t work; ever since they became Zeviantart it’s only gotten worse.

With said reindex complete, listings by author are now correctly precise.

In the course of searching for “-faved_by:Roboshi”, I just noticed something really weird. I don’t know if it is actually associated with any serious issues, but there are a lot of images turning up in those results with really wonky timestamps.
 
For example >>821366 says it was uploaded 13 hours ago, but it has comments from 3 years ago. Same situation with  
>>809569 (17 days/7 months)  
>>811407 (15 days/2 years)  
and >>811818 (14 days/2 years)
 
Doesn’t really affect me all that much, but I figured I’d report it in case you guys needed to look into it.

Those are pictures that have been merged forward with higher-quality reuploads. All of the comments, faves, and votes from the old pictures are retained.

I just re-added the tag, and it’s showing up now, but it doesn’t appear in the tag history.

Is there a known issue with “downthemall” for Firefox, or downloading in general? Hardly anything works for me here.

I downloaded the 2-months worth of images too (300 images), but trying to get the downloads to budge was a hellish effort.

Getting the weird thumbnail issue again.
 

 
Though a single refresh fixes it, most of the time.

The “vulgar” spoiler seems broke. In Default and TV-Y the result thumbs are not spoilered, while the images are spoilered on their pages.

Were you specifically searching for vulgar? Result pages will skip spoilering a tag if it occurs in the top level your search string, or if you view the tag’s image list directly by clicking on it.

Images that I’ve previously down-voted no longer show the negative count and I have to re-vote on them. Positive votes are not effected.

I would presume this is related to the fact that you vote on as many as… what did that say? *double checks* 34,817 images in a single day?

What? No that can’t be right,sure I take the effort to vote on every daily image but not that much surely. Would the amount of votes I have really bear anything to do with negative votes disappearing but positive vote to stay?

Ok this is odd. I make a search, adding “-spike” at the end. None of the results have Spike in them, but he shows if I get them with the Random Result button. Am I missing something?

Was the tag “cute rape” deliberately sent down the memory hole? Entering it into the search bar turns up the usual “We couldn’t find any images for you” message. Entering into the tag search returns No tags; not even the tag entry with 0 images that sometimes appears when a tag has been eliminated. It doesn’t appear as being either added or removed in the tag history of 146379, 341410, 358755, 407639, 408801, 409201, 443801, 459489, 498310, 576721, 646861, 663166, 673289, 673870, 696191, 709660, 712369, or 801093. The only evidence of it left on the site is in the comments of >>712369 and >>801093.

As you and mods can see, you have a ban for breaking Rule #9; specifically, for creating 9 accounts to mass downvote specifically tagged images.
 
Under most circumstances, we permaban everyone that breaks Rule #9. For some reason, the active mod decided to not permaban you and instead opt for the more permissive vote monitoring / wipe. Meaning of, given you abused this site’s functions to mass downvote easily filterable images, every time a mod notices you repeatedly downvoting images you could have easily filtered, your votes get wiped.
 
We’ve worked very hard (and pay a pretty penny) to create a site where people can chose to be exposed only to the images they want to see, and have little tolerance for those that intentionally curtail our efforts specifically to vandalize metadata in some sort of petty egomaniacal expression of self-importance.
 
If you have a problem with this, you’re free to request a permaban. It’s only two clicks for me.

Well then I’m glad that moderater did what he did as I’ve come to enjoy a great much of what this site has offered. Despite the black marks on my record ten months ago I’d like to think I’ve been keeping in line with site policy.I appolgize to having abused the efforts of those dedicated staff members And I would greatly apprecate if some conclusion could come to the current predicament I have stated with my voting system please.
