in this site, it leaves you room for thinking about the future decisions that one should take. There is plenty of time to discuss without any stress and stop for a moment in the middle of a debate before giving another answer in public.
 
However, you cannot do this on Twitter. That site encourages rushed reactionary behaviors and you act according to the likes,followers and the constant feeling of being relevant again and again (as if you are doing something unique and revolutionary for the society).
 
On this forum for example,you share your own opinion, you discuss as much as you want about the topic in question and move on. On Twitter,you feel forced to do certain moves constantly because you have to keep an image in front of everyone.

I have to praise your move about ditching Twitter,not because one should agree on everything,far from it. It’s mostly because Twitter feels like a constant warzone that tires anyone and brings out the worst out of those users.
 
If you notice any mental changes after abandoning Twitter and you feel like sharing your impressions here, it will be really appreciated.

Derpibooru is my home.. I can’t leave over silly arguments. And I’m finally getting the courage to draw my own stuff. My journey isn’t done yet

I’ve been apart of this site for almost 4 years now, and honestly, I can’t bring myself to leave because I have nowhere else to go. I’ve made a few friends here, and my art (despite its shitty quality) does a lot better on here than say DeviantArt or Twitter. I mean, that one Queen Novo image I made where she’s in a birdbath has over 80 upvotes. Not a whole lot but still better than how it did on DeviantArt, where my art really doesn’t do very well, and the less said about Twitter the better.  
Now I did make an account on Ponybooru as a backup plan in case something does happen, but it would probably take ages to get all my images up there. So I’m just gonna wait out the shitstorm and hope things get back to normal.

Im still staying on the booru.
 
Been lurking here since the site was made and i met a lot of nice folk here.
 
Not planning on making an alt account for rain/ponybooru since it doesn’t seem worth the hassle and because i don’t think those sites will ever get to the level of popularity/usefulness of derpibooru.

After chatting with some people on here, I have decided to stick around. I get almost half the viewership of my art from here, so leaving would be a massive blow. I get absolutely zilch feedback from twitter anyway (not “popular” enough lol).  
There really isn’t any other site like it (exclusively pony content, easy access to references) plus people here are pretty cool. Staff just need to get their heads together and sort things out.

You need to be confident in your artwork, if you are happy with it and you have fun drawing, thats all that matters. I think your art looks nice anyway.

I totally agree with this. If all the good artists leave, then the community is going to suffer. As for me, I’m not leaving for the foreseeable future. This website has been my home for quite some time, and I can’t imagine leaving permanently.
 
Derpi’s the only place where people enjoy my pony art the most, and the engagement I gain from other platforms don’t even comes close to that. Really, the only thing I want right now is 1.) A more trustworthy staff with better communication between the people. 2.) A solution to this whole incident with the least amount of damage to the repository.
 
As for joining Rain/Pony/or whatever booru people are fixing up, I might make an account for one of them if they can properly take off, and that’s it. I think being a part of two pony-themed booru’s is enough for one lifetime.

Unfortunately, my cynical self believes the damage is permanent. Browsing this site long enough has told me political injection is inevitable, whether we want it or not, considering how this is one of the archives for art with dead sources.

I too believe it’s permanent, because you can’t please everyone anymore, to the point where having both the Left and Right in the same universe means giving up either free speech or peace, and we’ve chosen to renounce the latter…

Political art has been here for years, but I had always foolishly assumed that the site staff and most of the userbase would remain neutral because it seemed like they always had been.
 
Nowhere is safe from the Culture War anymore. Not even Paw Patrol.

Unless you mean ‘this’ to be “Everything since the BLM twitter announcement” it’s probably a bit too small of a data sample to properly gauge things, it’s only been a week since Raptorshy made their announcement thread and 11 days since the anti-censorship artists made the DNP thread.  
Could just be a regular dip in site traffic.  
On the other hand, it could just be the natural reaction to whats been happening.  
With uploads, we’re still not sure how many are under DNP for the various reasons.  
Votes and Faves people are potentially wary due to the possibility of getting banned over it.
 
Dont forget throughout all of this there has been zero site-wide announcement, everything people know has been distributed throughout the grape vine or if they cared to visit the site policy forums and a lot of it will be missing context either wilfully or unknowingly.  
I can easily see “Yeah dont upload or vote on anything for a bit you might get banned if the mods feel like it.” being said to someone like it’s a game of Chinese whispers.

I believe it was since the bigger artists left the site / submitted DNP takedowns. It feels like the majority of people left with them. The banning over votes and favs is new to me.

Staff has claimed to not be doing silent forced filter anymore, but before that, recently, they were force-filtering certain political (and artist?) tags for several users that downvoted that content, including some who barely downvoted any (e.g. myself). Those are supposed to be cleared by now, but there’s some lingering reports of this happening.
 
I don’t think upvotes and favorites were ever involved (e.g. I upvoted some of that content (particularly when it was presented in a less antagonizing way) and was still force-filtered).

It sounds like a problem with the filtering system, but I upvote pictures and havent noticed anything missing.

I’ve never called Derpibooru my “home”. I’ve never interacted much with the community here. It’s always been just a useful site for finding MLP art. Maybe that’s why I have zero problems about leaving it permanently, especially now that there are alternatives. The fact that Derpibooru has so much art will only be a temporary problem that I’m sure the import scripts working tirelessly on other sites will soon fix, not to mention that they may also have a lot of other content that can’t be posted on Derpi for whatever reason.

I’ve never seen you interact much no matter where you tend to be, I’ve seen you a few different places.  
You just don’t seem to be the interactive type in general. Not trying to be insulting, just what I’ve noticed.

Man, I wanna stay for the non-controversial uploads and neat looking booru interface but at the same time would make it seem I’m “defending” THAT crowd of users on here too. And the only other booru I feel most comfortable with be Furbooru too.

and after that announcement. the leave and stay votes have traded places… unfortunate… ill probably be posting my art here and other sites. catching those that left and those that stayed… i wanted to stay here but the censorship vote makes it clear that alot of people are going to leave. so only posting here will lead to my art being seen by less people. this is a sad day.

Bet many people will be wanting to change their votes now.
