Now that it’s been a couple of months, have the updated rules succeeded in reducing moderation-hours needed to be spent?

It’s only been a few days since the first big pass at deleting the ai generated images, which was when things really changed. I don’t know how it’s going for everyone else, but, for myself? Since that first pass of the purge my volunteer time here has been completely devoted to helping artists again, or working through a backlog of old reports going back three months or more. I think a week ago I had more than 100 unanswered PMs and at least 20 open reports - some of them going back to June. Today I only have 5 open reports - only 2 of them more than a few hours old, and only 6 unanswered PMs. None of which looks like something I’m going to need therapy to get through. So … for me? It’s been a night-and-day change. It’s like this is an entirely different site. I once again have the time to actually respond to questions, and to write to people when their images are deleted to let them know what the problem was so they can avoid it in the future.
Who knows? By this weekend I might be able to start working the Artist Aliasing thread again.

Latest update…

Image deletions

  • The initial wave of image deletions is complete
    • This covered images that were tagged as only ai generated, had no tags that indicated they were anything but, and didn’t have their tags changed between the policy announcement and deletion date
  • Several thousand images tagged ai generated remain
    • These are images where there was an artist or editor tag, or another tag (like ai assisted or edit) that indicate they may not have been purely ai generated.
    • Some images that may otherwise break our new rules have been intentionally retained for their historical or community significance
  • We have begun manually going through the list of remaining images to clarify their status (fixing tags or deleting as needed)
  • If you believe images were deleted that should be resurfaced, let us know
    • For example, you tagged your things with manual work as ai generated and nothing else, not knowing about the ai assisted tag
    • Just comment below with either the tags you used or your account so we can check uploads
    • Alternatively all the deleted images are on Tantabus, so you can link things from there for us to check

On Tantabus

  • As mentioned above, all the deleted ai generated images are available on Tantabus
    • All images include the derpi image ID in the description as well as as a source URL
    • This should allow for searching images there and letting us know IDs here, if you want us to review a deleted image
    • Alternatively, by tags, as they should be the same as they were before deletion
  • Comments from derpi have been imported to Tantabus
    • These all show as being from “Background Pony”, but include the poster name in the comment if it was public
    • Links between comments (ie. replies) should work as expected
  • Votes and scores have not been transferred
    • Those wanting to have their votes/faves copied over can check this page for how to do that
  • An additional domain, lunabooru.org, has been set up
    • This is due to reports of some ISPs in a certain country having issues with the canonical address
    • This functions just like trixiebooru.org for derpi; it’s the same site but on a different domain
    • Site links are relative and domain agnostic (thus why the above isn’t linked, it’d just redirect to the domain you’re on)
    • Keep in mind session cookies are domain specific

Keep replies to this focused on the information presented above, primarily on queries about resurfacing images that aren’t fully ai generated.

This thread is not to be used to discuss AI in general, politics, ethics, etc., and comments attempting to do so will be deleted.

Despite I had no problems at all with this new policy it resulted in me getting banned. C’mon, I’m not ai generated picture I’m a user. But seriously: this is my only account on this platform and everyone can see upload count is 0. Sometimes, in fact, I upload stuff when I’m not logged in. Though I got account banned, not IP adress nor browser. The exact reason for the ban was rule 3. I ensure you that all of my uploads were pony related and noone of them had “ai generated” tag. Idk if it can be proven or not and I don’t care. I’m seeking for the solution to this situation to avoid future bans.
Thanks for taking the time to preserve the comments under AI gens. The votes I don’t mind much since all those pics are pretty much obsolete these days.

Notoriously Divine Tagger - Consistently uploads images above and beyond the minimum tag requirements. And/or additionally, bringing over the original description from the source if the image has one. Does NOT apply to the uploader adding several to a dozen tags after originally uploading with minimum to bare tagging.

Word Bug
It seems like uploaders are still posting AI content marked as AI Composition but lacking editor:* tag.
Also, new AI Generated images have been uploaded too. They seem to be uploaded and then have the AI Generated tag added post upload.

Something of an artist
As for me, I’m using the “prompter” tag instead of “editor”, since my “prompter” tag is already watched by a lot of people. Adding “editor” alongside “prompter” might be viable, but seems redundant.

Hoofsies Rule
This thread is very long so bear with me in case this has already been discussed.
Is there any way that AI compositions etc are being proven as such? Like, a fully AI generated image is being uploaded with little to no errors that could have been edited out by the prompter by hand or it simply is a flawless generation. The uploader can tag anything they want in cases like that. But proof?
I have big respect and find it awesome that many are putting manual effort into their generated images and add their own part to it.
However there are notably many uploads where its not that obvious and many have the concern that people are trying to surpass the site’s AI policy.
Recent uploads where the tagged prompter has 1 or 2 images on this site where its hard to impossible to see workflow or manual partaking makes you wonder.
Should there be a link or gif in the description of uploads that show a before/after or workflow of the image?
Some clarity on that would be nice.
As it might become more of a problem with more uploaders getting the idea.
