Frankly, I’m more concerned about bad actors uploading AI generations and tagging them as ai composition putting the onus on everyone else to report quality issues, or as ai assisted and then arguing against anyone who claims they’re AI generations at all.

I’ll remain vigilant, but if people were willing to skirt AI-related rules before, then they’re willing to skirt AI-related rules now.

Also, can the AI quality guidelines be added as a link to the “Site Resources” section at the bottom of Derpi? It should be easy to find like the Rules.

Based decision, thank you Derpibooru. I’ve seen what happens when sites like DeviantArt fully embrace AI, it just results in actual human art being drowned out by an endless sea of slop.

For every decent AI pic there is like 10 more poorly generated ones, so limiting the upload quality to one a day and enforcing higher quality standards is the way to go.

I am gonna miss my Twi-bomination though XD

Also in regards to the “One AI pic a day” rule, is it a calendar day, or just 24 hours after the last pic?

So say you posted an AI pic at 7PM, do you need to wait till 7PM the next day to upload one, or can it be uploaded at an earlier time like 4PM next day?

What is the point of this if you have new tags for AI?
You have People who Do put Ai on top of their work and AI completely just completely redoes the rendition of their composition to where everything is warped and such low quality. Like seriously what is the point of this if you’re not sending all of ai users over to tantibus?

If anything this comes off as a Moderation thing? Hey we can’t cover doing this?

Per the server seems the easiest way to figure it. ‘created_at.eq:today’s date’ kind of search is what I use. “Per 24 hours” gets tricky if you upload today at 6 pm and tomorrow at 5pm all of a sudden you broke a rule. You end up having to wait one minute longer each day or people report you.

This is an international site, and we’ve got people uploading to it from all over the planet. So having everything be normal and EU based won’t work - so when we look at people uploading what might be ‘too many images’ we do have to figure out if it’s a one time thing, like they uploaded 2 minutes early today, or if it’s someone doing a either a bunch in one go or ‘too many over time’.

While interesting, the topic of “AI” is very broad and we don’t want this to be an “AI General Discussion” thread.

That is fine. ai interpretation is the tag you are looking for. Those images are not affected by this.

Please read the definitions on the tags themselves. Hopefully that will help you. The tags are listed in the first post. If that doesn’t help, please either come to support or send me a PM with an example of an image you’re wondering about.

I can go right now over to the tag and find issues over in ai assist that the frowning pony is already bringing up with regular ai that they are mentioning. what is the point of doing this if not all of ai is being transferred over?
Wouldn’t it make more sense to have a Ai based platform if people are supportive of ai?

That is not how it works.

Any image tagged ai assisted that has raw generation errors or artifacts is deleted, and the person who tagged it as ai assisted gets a warning or banned.

I can go right now over to the tag and find issues over in ai assist

Report them. Or send me a PM with a list of some examples.

The first post- and your own comments- makes it pretty clear you’re doing this because you can’t moderate the spam, and are also unwilling or unable to distinguish between that spam and the AI artists I come here for.

If we are spending most of our time dealing with people using AI tools then we aren’t helping artists. So we aren’t going to help people uploading raw AI gens any more.

Thus we can help artists instead.

Forgive me, But the guidelines pointed out a very specific list? (Bad facial features) for example.
How is exactly okay to pull these, but ignore like AI assisted eyes that are clearly disfigured or warped?
Clearly this seems like moderation is picking and choosing on what is reasonable and what is not based upon the character or content, No?

It only seems the AI generated specific tag is being effected.

ai assisted is for minor use of AI, like to add some background element or fill in colours. It also covers the sort of stuff Photoshop and other art programs have had built in for well over a decade that were always “AI” but just never called that.

IMO the amount of upvotes something has should not be used as a metric for quality, regardless of AI usage. By that logic, a hidden gem containing a less popular background character/made by an unknown artist is lower quality than a mediocre image containing a very popular character/made by a very popular artist. At best, it’s a metric for how many people were looking for the same thing which is not exactly synonymous with art quality.
