If I may, on the similar topic of replies, when a reply is deleted can Mods please post or send a message about its deletion or what was wrong with it? Just seeing “Deletion rule #” and not being told what was done wrong makes it quite a bit harder to honestly judge how to properly reply to art or the topic of conversation in the comments that relates to the art. If your going to delete my posts then I want to know why and what was wrong with it. I also had no idea the post had been deleted at all, until someone else commented on the art and I then saw my post removed.

Usually, just saying “Rule #foo” is sufficient, for example if something is deleted for Rule #6 that means it was off topic or the poster was abusing site functionality (for example, ban evading, sock-puppeting, or spamming, etc), and Rule #0 usually means there was some for of name-calling or ad hominem in the post.

And, please do note that replying to an off-topic discussion on an image is still off-topic. This can especially be a problem on any kind of politically-themed images.

However, if the deletion reason wasn’t clear, or if you have questions about moderation, or if want to appeal a deletion, you are always welcome in our Support channel on Discord, or in our -help channel in IRC. The links are available on the Contact page at the bottom of each page.

Please note, asking why a comment was deleted on an image, by posting on the image itself, is very off topic. We really do ask that people not have meta discussions about moderation on fan art - it’s really not fair to the artists if the comments on their images get derailed by subjects that have nothing to do with their art.

@Derpy Whooves

I understand things a little bit better lately, to be honest it took me a while to actually find the RULES themselves. I spent a while on the forums looking for lists of the what the actual rules where, and eventually found them while reading comments on an adorable picture, and scrolling a little too far down on my phone. I understand it can be a a lot of work with a smaller moderation team, but at the very least id have liked a notification saying my post had been deleted in the first place. As for posting on the image itself asking why, I thought id deleted that after i found and posted my thoughts here. Simply seeing things deleted, with a random rule number, and no explanation or notice really does bother me still. I like knowing where, or when on a post I make a mistake, so that I can then fix the mistake and not lose the entire post all together, with no way to read what the original post had been in the first place. If I make a mistake, that is fine. I am pretty dam goofy and ADHD so I see and think of things in different directions or angles, so just having messages deleted, without being told “Why, How, or what.” Gets under my skin. Maybe its because I was home schooled, or maybe its the whole ‘censorship’ thing going on in my head still.
In any case thank you for replying at least, maybe when things calm down you can consider some of my thoughts in the future?
Also my apologies Cosmas for using your question post to ask my own. It occured to me earlier today that it was a rude action, and I do hope no one is upset at me for anything.

It’s all fine since you asked after my question was answered. I appreciate any future advice to the mods to improve the site. You can also make a feature suggestion in the link above to really have the mods listen to your case.
