Don’t show the score. Just the number of faves, the fave button, the upvote button, and the downvote button.
I have a compromise re: no more downvoting from thumbnails:
I’d rather have the score and none of the other stuff.
Go to sleep @CD, you are drunk.
@dt
Yes thank you @dt you already made that point a few times in other threads. Smartass.
It’s not like the thread you linked is even related to the current update but don’t let that bother you.
CD, dt, you’re both long-time users, I don’t see why you need to make this more complicated. These threads are a waste of time and only distract the mods from comments that DO actually have something meaningful to add.

@Vree
lol The idea of removing downvotes and adding the number of faves on the thumbnail came from that thread.
Everything I have to say about the changes made I already said in that thread. I don’t need to say it again, especially since I like them. I spoke up, and I got what I was hoping for. They don’t say anything, and now they complain. I’m just laughing at these fools. C’mon, let me have this.
And hey. Maybe now they’ll be more interested in what happens in this part of the forum.
(Of course they won’t.)

I just use derpibooru to see art, I don’t come here for the forum and fetish discussions/RP/fics/ships and etc. Those stuff seem better on other.
Oh well, glad is open for these stuff, though only using it because something changed out of the blue. If their was an email or message to participate and want user input, i missed it.

Can we get rid of the symbols above the thumbnails? The star and arrow and junk? I don’t like them. They bug me for some reason.
@KirbyfanNeox
In favor of the old text (score, cmt). I would support it, but there was no fav counter before and so there is nothing to go back to for the star.

I agree, I also think plain text is better. I was thinking combining the scores with the buttons, something like
yay 25 • fav 3 • cmt 65
What do you guys think? (Oh, and maybe ask your friends, too…the ones who don’t read the site/policy forums and then act surprised when we change the site or policy.)

I’d be in favor of not being able to vote from thumbnails at all.
@WingbeatPony
My problem is that it isn’t even. If you want to make it so you have to click on the image to give a negative rating, you should do the same for a positive one.

There should still be scre next to the score rather than yay who only mean positive.
Edit: How I see it back to the closest possible way of how it used to be minus the neigh.
[fav counter name/symbol here] x • scre x • |fave| • |yay| • x cmts

This. Either no voting from the thumbnails at all (faving counts as upvoting), or make downvoting and upvoting from the thumbnails possible.

@ClownDicks
And I don’t buy voting positively from the thumbnail has “no negative effect.” Because it actually does. Here’s my question, essentially:
How is voting something up based on thumbnail alone any better for the objective quality of the piece than downvoting it?
Is it just because artists might take a downvote as an insult? If you’re voting from thumbnail, you’re not giving them a fair shake regardless of what you think of them. It’s either mindless praise or mindless hate.

Actually, have a look at the front page right now. Would you agree or disagree that the scores are indicative of the quality of the image? I’m noting at least five negative scores at this particular moment.
If the scores were unnaturally high, eg. in the 50+ point range before they got off the front page, then I think you’d have a point. But the scores don’t look any higher than they usually do. The only thing missing are the 1-3 downvotes nearly every image was getting before we did this.

Only thing that I’m seeing is that people are still making sure to downvote images that are crap regardless of the extra effort.

I agree with Itsthinks and Clowdicks
I’m in favor for getting rid of voting from thumbnail all together. If mindless mass voting is such a big problem remove all thumbnail interaction.

I’d be fine with the “click to be able to vote” thing, but at this point I have no idea whether I’ve upvoted or downvoted something previously.
This is especially bad on images that have a spoiler, as I have no indication of content. You might say, “hover your mouse over the image”, but if I’m on a tablet? No dice.

Just have unclickble fave yay/neigh indicators?
Hmm that sounds reasonable.
Like standard booru, well its in the name after all lol.

We don’t do standard.
There’s been some good suggestions in here and other threads - we’re working on some changes and will probably run a few versions in parallel with some measurements to see how people like them, along with a request for feedback on the forums when they go live.
Thanks for not going crazy, people. I actually like these discussions when they’re civil.
