Seriously they want to target patreon and whatnot for GOING BACK TO THE STATUS QUO. Meanwhile this website already did something unjust by trying to shelter some specific tags because the users of it didn’t like that its voting was disagreeing with their views (talking about Dilarus’ extremely political mouthpieces and basically turning his comic into a political agenda).
 
And by inputing the rule the administration did far more damage to the website, it’s reputation, and the number of people who wants to destroy it (on BOTH sides) that it’s silly.
 
You might see the status quo as unjust, I see it as unjust that a rag news website, spearheaded by woot, made a full hit piece and ignored DB’s admin response.  
And that THAT is what kickstarted it, someone exterior raising a stink in a bias piece.
 
We should never have been to this point, and that’s my still my take.

i think you’re going too far with this, it is aiding in the spread of nazism for sure, but being ignorant of the harm that complacency causes is not the same morally as purposefully spreading nazism, even if the end result is the same.

Deliberate hate speech is not free speech and does not deserve any protection.

the proof that online nazi normalization spawns neo-nazis can be seen in the fact that neo-nazi rallies and neo-nazi hate crimes have been sharply rising along side the increase the spread of in nazi “memes” since the early 2010s (keep in mind that aryanne was created in early 2014). this is a positive feedback loop where more propaganda produces more nazis which produces more propaganda.
 
this propaganda can be blatant, but often times it is done in such a way that gives it’s creators deniability by saying “it’s just memes! you’re overreacting!” and that is how it is most dangerous.
 
actual neo nazis know that using humor (like memes) is a very real and valid method of indoctrinating more people to agree with their disgusting views. in 2017 the style guide (essentially a “how-to” on writing articles for them) for the Daily Stormer (an actual neo-nazi news site) was leaked, in it they state this:

Yeah but that quote is actually true, and you cannot negate the modern social and political zeitgeist. The correlation posted by Coco exists, and can be demostrated. But the way a certain left reply to the problem is giving more power to nazis. They are making their own game by censoring and so on. The left should use the same weapon of meme and autoirony, making herself look more nice. Positioned at the same level of the internet meta, The far right, which has a weaker and less solid ideology, cannot compete against “the left” or moderacy.

Simple concept: If Nazism is indisputably wrong, then it should be platformed, because it cannot withstand scrutiny. When you push it underground, it creates echo chambers that grow, and literal Nazis are a thing, not just a boogeyman the left labels every cis het white male.
 
Consider how Liberalism was the counter-culture in the ‘60s to probably early 2000s. It was cool to be environmentally friendly. It was cool to be into drugs and free love and like, whatever man! It was cool to be anti-establishment, anti-war, etc etc. Now the Left is the establishment, so they’ve taken the next natural step: Full-on Communism.
 
As the far-Left grows, so too does its counterbalance, and given there’s no platform to provide fair debate, the far-Right echo chambers grow. “Fair” debate consists of a paid actor on television, psyops, and heavy Leftist propaganda. Less people trust establishment media of all kinds, and are pushed further down their respective rabbit holes. Those disgusted and alienated by the Left and its increasingly extreme demands, don’t know where to turn. Eventually, some of them stumble across National Socialism, and with the establishment-which they don’t trust (with good reason)- telling only one side of the story, and deplatforming anyone that doesn’t fall lock-step in with their talking points, they look deeper and get sucked right into far-Right echo chambers. Make no mistake, there are plenty of them, and they’re simpler to find than you might think.
 
Leftists, in their purity spiral “burn the witch!” craze, are the highest contributor to the rise of REAL Nazis, not just the meme Nazis the left likes to shout about. Because there is no platform to provide and show the undecided NPC normies who can’t think for themselves the points that discredit Nazism, the far-Right echo chambers grow stronger, and as the United States and Europe stampede further left, the alienated populace, desperate for their voices to be heard, will turn to the REAL Nazis, and the left will have nobody to blame for the rise of Fascism in the West but themselves.

I think that this would be counterproductive, she is already being made “nice” so that she is more appealing to those who would not agree with outright racism or genocidal ideologies like the nazis, that is the whole goal.
 
the only worthy counter-strategy in my eyes would be to reduce her positive visibility (images where aryanne is portrayed nice or funny or sexy), and increase her negative visibility (images where aryanne is portrayed as stupid, gullible, and ugly). this begins to form the new zeitgeist that belittling her and her kind is a fun and justified thing to so, because nazis really are stupid, gullible, and ugly.

The thing is, people are radicalized not because of memes (at least they played small role in the global scale of things), but because social networks and MSM became echo chamber to the left, which polarized society. So the right created their own echo chambers, because they had no place to go, and no people to provide other opinions, because “no one wants to talk to Nazis”. It radicalized both parties, and the result of this is what we see currently happening.

Also, sometime ago I saw a screenshot of email from Daily Stormer, that was saying that they are laying off people and basically on the edge of collapse right now. Remember that many battles were lost because someone was thinking that a tactic they use is very good, only to understand its flaws while watching their army get destroyed.

That was my point, I think that the “BASH THE FASH” stupidity is what is causing accelerated rise in neo-nazis, both because attacking the innocent sets said innocents against you (both physical attacks because “violence against nazis is okay” and “we can unilaterally decide who is a Nazi”, and verbal ones), and because actively trying to paint things as a racial issue and behaving in obviously destructive ways lets real neo-nazis coerce people and shift goals of groups.  
Ironically, “behaving in obviously destructive ways” is what changed original KKK from vigilantes to racists; failing to provide work and shelter for all the freed (black) slaves resulted in a lot of them becoming criminals to sustain themselves. I won’t be surprised if the exact same thing will happen with some of the groups that formed anti-riot militia; and all the people who’ve had their property and homes destroyed by the riots are prime neo-nazi recruiting targets - ESPECIALLY if instead of support and shelter they get insults and blame from the BLM itself.
 
P.S. Anecdotal evidence says real neo-nazis are very welcoming to such disenfranchized people, specifically for recruiting reasons.
 
P.P.S. Basically, being insufficiently discerning in your targets gives your opponent recruits, being insufficiently discerning in your methods turns you into your opponent. He who fights monsters yadda yadda.

The fun of visiting Derpibooru was when you yourself could judge images for fun (in addition to making posts). You, the user, decided what images are cool or not cool.
 
I used to think Derpi was a good nexus for pony images across the internet; like it’s some sort of wild west of crazy pony art! Like all good things on the internet, however, it will dry out and become a shell of its former self. I was born in ‘92, and I’m accustomed to seeing popular websites become unalive.

I think it is bullshit to use Derpibooru as a platform to fight racism or stop hate, because in the US that would be transparently a political agenda to support entitlementism. (intersectional activism; the far left)
 
I think I might be overreacting too. Honestly I won’t be hurt if Derpi admins and donors are all enforcing NO HATE SPEECH. Derpibooru didn’t achieve independence from the British in a revolution; Derpibooru isn’t really a public square (pony-related images only!); this isn’t that glamorous a hill to die on, I wouldn’t think.
 
I don’t blame the admins because I can’t fathom the management in all this. There clearly exists an art style that physically reaches out of the monitor and racist-ly bullies you. There clearly exists pony images that are transparently not about pony but instead are the instruction manual to joining the alt right (small obligatory pony depicted in the corner). Can you tell if I’m joking? But not everything can be jokes. The internet used to be funny, but ummm yeah. …So if admins have to enforce image rules to stay out of legal/social trouble, then, I’d support that…
