Simple solution: replace the “yay” with a green up arrow icon, the “fave” with a yellow star, and add a down icon for the opposite. In fact, you could compact it even more like this:

Make the icons coloured and clickable to change votes/fave

Currently, no, there aren’t any that hit 1k+ on all three, but plenty that hit 100+ on them. That’s already too cramped.

Some people requested it, yes. Faving is a pretty popular action but kind of hard to see unless you scroll down to the bottom of an image. That’s a bit backward given most people see faves as having more value than votes.

The image info bar format is going to stay more or less how it is but we’ll tweak it in terms of colours etc - there’s an issue where we don’t display if you’ve downvoted an image any more which we missed before we went live, so we’ll sort that, but the downvote button isn’t going to return to galleries - there’s not enough room to accommodate it and we don’t like to encourage en-masse downvoting. Downvoting will always be doable via the image page as ever.

Another small suggestion - it might make sense to swap the ^ and the “fave” button, so that the change icons are next to the same respective scores that they represent on the bar, like this.

Fortunately you seem to have left the downvote link javascript intact, so I’m going to throw together a little userscript to add a downvote button. If you really don’t want me sharing it, let me know, because otherwise I’ll post it here for other people to use.
 
If nothing else I want a visual indication of whether I’ve downvoted an image or not..

In fact, Putting up a link in a new thread is probably the best thing to notify people.

For the record, my last 15 posts have had 0 downvotes, when normally all of them would have at least 2 by now. So that does make a difference.

For people that have been asking “why can we upvote and fave from the thumbnail, then?”, the answer is: out of respect for uploaders.
 
If you’re a frequent uploader like I am, you search for the artist name before uploading something. If it’s already there and there aren’t any comments, you’ve already seen the image in the source and there’s no point in opening the image again, so you upvote/fave and move on to the next upload.
 
I’ve never had a case where I felt like downvoting something without actually looking at the image first. If people actually did that then Weaver’s art would get downvoted instantly for looking like children’s doodles in the thumbnail.

Can we have the score in front like before while moving the fave number behind it or to the end? I just think that it’s better to see the number of votes before the number of faves.

I think both the favorite and upvote options should be removed so everyone can give a fair vote on images. It only displays things you’ve upvoted or downvoted, and how much score it has along with favorites on the thumbmail.  
Basically get rid of quick-voting entirely and have everyone take the time to go and vote on the picture.  
It’ll be fair, As pointless as removing one function over another over bullshit, and wont start a shitstorm. Unless it’s because of how pointless it is.  
That’s only my opinion though, and that doesn’t count for shit.

why did you remove the downvote on thumbs?  
it was working as means of quality control.

If something is bad enough to merit being “quality controlled”, then it can be easily downvoted from the image page, like it’s done in every other booru on the net.

Is it absolutely impossible to bring back the downvote from thumbnails? Pretty sure if it’d fit if the fav/yay/neign were replaced by small icons, as suggested earlier. Some if you can upvote from thumbs it only makes sense you could downvote from thumbs.

The only reason the downvote button was taken away from the thumbnail is to prevent people from downvoting everything on the site.

That’s exactly what I said, But my opinion means squat.  
And nobody’s going to stop downvoting. If anything it’ll encourage people to downvote more, and on things that they didn’t care about instead of outright hate.

Sorry, but I don’t see the point if a few people are misusing a feature in one part, to just get rid of it in general, when a majority of people are using it like it is supposed to.
