Explanation of update to Rule #0 for consistency and clarity especially in regards to racism

Just because the site deletes images promoting IRL and outlawed neo-nazi organizations doesn’t mean it should have to delete every other political image on the site, too, because of some sense of ‘fairness’.

So your argument is that racism is worse than rape then? This has always been covered by argumentation throughout this thread. Refer to the posts made previously, all of them. Also none of the images being deleted have promoted any real groups by Luna’s own admission in this thread.

We have deleted images that promoted IRL neo-nazi organizations, and some comments and posts promoting similar messages, but those are not in-scope for this thread.

Indeed. I’m also not arguing for the existence of posts that promote joining actually violent groups, as I understand that would fit under the umbrella that was never allowed before. This should probably go for Antifa as well though, given how many M80’s I’ve seen tossed into crowds of random people who didn’t agree with them. If we are being fair, and actually against people joining groups that commit politically motivated violence here, at least.

How are there still images of gun-towing “YE-HAW ‘MURICA” pictures around when it can be considered a negative stereotype? A good point that I remember once being made long ago with a show like Family Guy, is that if you ban one stereotype, you’ll eventually have to ban them all because no one wants to be left out in being treated special. It’s very true, which is why I’m against playing favorites. More and more everyday I’m seeing for myself how that can be just as harmful as singling people out; in the end they both breed bitterness through unfairness.

No. But let me return a similar question:
 
One person was killed because of their race. The other was killed because someone wanted their money. Another was killed because they voted differently. One was killed because he just wasn’t liked. The last person was killed for sheer twisted pleasure. Which person is more dead?
 
Neither. Murder is always a crime of passion and the motive doesn’t make the end result any worse than it already is. I myself look at extremist politics in the same sort of light.
 
Nazism has killed for race.  
Communism has killed for thoughts and money.
 
Those death tolls get real high too. Guess which has a far higher death toll though but is still allowed around here, able to pitch its symbol freely? But if you wanna know the horrors of both, ask Poland who suffered takeovers from both. Between both… many died and it all nearly whipped out the entire country.
 
So, to loop the conversation back around to even my post above, if we’re going to ban one extreme political ideology, we will have to ban them all. But I’d rather not do that. I’d rather leave these things open to expression and discussion among the public.

Actually, it’s kind of ironic… Derpibooru is a victim of the same sort of content control method it’s starting down. I just found out about this today.

I was around when Patreon first started saying, “hey… we feel the moral need to start banning those who have views and content we don’t like.” And yes, they were banning people based on politics. Now they’re banning the ‘no no’ content’… which is a loooooot of money. Lots. of. Money. Money they will no longer be getting.
 
Now they’re going the way of Tumblr who succumbed to the destructive moral NEED to first police politics… then the dominoes started falling, slowly but surely, as they always do.
 
This could very much be the future of Derpibooru and I certainly hope not.
 
Mods will always say, “that won’t be us.” But can they say the same for the mods who will one day take their place?

Turns out Patreon LOST its recent lawsuit attempt and is now being FORCED to pay out up to $10,000 per person involved in the recent case, which is about 100 people. This also enables almost anyone else who was effected by Patreon’s moral purge to open up new lawsuits… and they likely will.
 
What happened exactly? In short…
 
Patreon: Hey, we’re feeling like moral superiors today. So we should ban bad apples.  
Mild Edge Lords: So you mean us.  
Patreon: Y U P ! Drops the Ban Hammer to nuke accounts  
Mild Edge Lords: Woah! Hey! We signed contract/terms of service ect! We didn’t break any rules!  
Patreon: Oh uh… madly starts scribbling away we changed it just now! So you broke the rules we JUST made up! So hah!  
Judge: Aaaaaaand changing a contract like that is illegal.  
Patreon: oh s***! Well-uh… at least we have all that money from the NSFW artists still rolling in… right?  
NSFW Artists: The sound of a gentle breeze from a barren valley  
Patreon: O H R I G H T S * * *!!!
 
Okay, I made up that last part though it is relevant as Patreos is gonna need all the money they can get now. Either way, Patreon could be dead sooner than we thought.
 
Now… we can only hope Derpibooru Devs see the parallels.

So is touching yourself to very graphically gutted ponies. I checked. There are still tons of “sexualized” murder pics that would make most people want to vomit. That stuff is as demonic and messed up as it gets as it’s the stuff of serial killers. Yet there’s no crusade to ban it here.
 
But as much as that stuff makes me wanna pull out my eyes, I’m not gonna call for it’s ban. I’m just gonna keep it’s tag tucked in my black list.

I’m trying to understand the “delete” and “don’t delete” logic here, and when you look at other gas chamber pics, you notice that the ones that are still up are the ones that are joking in nature, like the one with pinkie and aryanne dabbing, or the one with Aryanne confused as the button don’t work.
 
Edit: uuuuh, nvm, the dabbing pic has just been deleted, because of gryphon depiction I guess… I dunno anymore.

Well that’s the problem, isn’t it? This is the exact same type of thing I mentioned a couple posts or so ago: “If THAT get’s special treatment, then how come THIS doesn’t get special treatment?!” Stuff like this is always a slippery slope. It’s up to the Devs to answer that question as we are left to hope that they don’t become ever more intoxicated with power.
 
But that one with the confused Aryanne is kind of amusing, especially knowing the historical conflict between Nazi’s and Commies.

I’m going to step in here about example #5. I haven’t seen such an image, but based on that description I will interpret it.  
Classifying people based on their origin is bad of course. Now Zecora gets called “animal” as to say she is worth less than Rainbow Dash, who is a pony. But ponies are animals too. Rainbow Dash and Zecora are both animals, they are equal. To me the message of the image is that racism is silly. You divide people by color, yet we are all humans.  
I believe this is exactly the sort of content people can be worried about. Satire to point out the issue of something, which can contain risky themes to do its job.

Alright, now I’m genuinely baffled at how godawful rule zero is actually being utilized.  
Image 2412061 has been deleted, with rule zero being cited. It’s literally just a ponified boomer vs. zoomer meme, nobody was directly targeted. What the hell is going on with the staff? It’s clear somebody is personally affected by this stuff.
