I’d say changing an important part of the site with a large number of users without any Fore-warning is pretty childish as well.

Why would we close it? We want to have a discussion about the change, this is this thread’s purpose. All the people going around images commenting bullshit then saying “hey, my message was deleted, mods are hypocrites!”, that’s the problem.

That tag was removed as it was literally redundant due to more advanced searching ability, and that people were never thorough with it anyway.

Running around spamming empty “criticism” like that purely out of anger that a site feature was changed won’t be tolerated because of Rule #0, Rule #4, and Rule #6.
 
That wasn’t constructive criticism, and you know it.

I’d combine Reddit style with also adding the hide button, so we can hide individual images and not just tags.
 
I’d also make it so artists can see the score makeup (ups and downs separate) on their own images. They would need to be logged in with their account being linked to their artist tag of course for this to work. But since the back-end needs to keep track of the ups and downs anyway for the Reddit style version, it shouldn’t be a problem to display the details to the artists themselves.

What would happen if someone just posted “I don’t like this image.”?

2nd option to me seems like the best option if the mods are not going to keep the changes like this.
 
Replace downvotes with the hide button and keep the upvotes, but give uploaders and artists the option to see how many people are hiding them .

also the new system for score searching is a bit too complex for me I just end up not using it, plus you miss some gems if you only look for certain scores, people tend to upvote mostly canon characters and that aint bad but still, i would rather spend some hours just browsing the tags

I don’t see what the big problem is, this new hide feature is more useful than just downvoting an image. Are people really making a big deal about this?

You wanna know the solution to the problem? there is none. You can’t please everyone unless you could implement multiple solutions allowing users to choose between their favorite option but this isn’t a perfect world now is it?
