Again you miss the point. SIMPLY DOWNVOTING SOMETHING DOES NOT CONVEY ENOUGH INFO. If i downvote a pic that doesn’t show why i downvoted it. You don’t know why they downvote something. No art is perfect and will always need improving but downvoting alone is NOT ENOUGH INFORMATION AS TO WHY.

It doesn’t sound like you believe the voting system in general has any utility. If you want people to express themselves exclusively through words, that’s fine, but I wouldn’t suggest enforcing that by allowing half of the meaningless input and removing the other half.

Really, some people needs check digital dictionaries to make an opinion. If you really like Derpibooru by the artistic quality, you need at least lookinf for some artistic definitions to propose a good or bad critic.

I’d like a system that strong armed downvoters to leave a comment as to why they downvoted. This way every downvote comes with criticism the artist could potentially use if they chose to. But this just seems like a weak and cowardly and alternative. To get rid of people’s public ability to dislike something, the upvote is just as meaningless. When I submit art, I care about upvotes AND downvotes. Why should I waste my time putting art on this site if everyone who looks at it is gagged? If you don’t like what I draw so be it. I’m mature enough to handle that. Everyone on this site is really terrified of a red arrow?
