Do we have to pay (exclusively) on Patreon for our badges?

I haven’t been answered on the 2019 Community Thread, so I thought I could ask about the Helper Badge for the 2019 Community Collab here. I helped someone with their Alpaca OC to be in the collab:

Patreon SHOULD be the only method you can donate to the site, but…
 
The gem badges are cumulative amount donated regardless of method.  
The bit badges, while they’re supposed to be deprecated, count for the month, and the method of donation also does not matter.  
The patron badges, which are supposed to replace the bit badges(since the only actual method of donating now should be via patreon) count for the month and should be exclusive to patreon donations.  
Derpy badge you get permanently, regardless of the amount donated, presumably also patreon exclusive.

How does one verify a link for fanfic writing to qualify for “Magical Inkwell?” And what if one’s platform of choice is this site?

Go to your profile page, click the “create new user link” and link a fimfic account with a fanfiction of at least 1500 words.

Nope, just link the fanfic and your derpi account in that case. Just make sure it’s at least 1500 words.
