Creating a Booru

Not sure where the best place to post this topic was. I enjoy Derpibooru very much and was wondering how one may create a similar website for a different subject.

Derpi was made open source some time ago, so you can find the “software” here: https://github.com/derpibooru/philomena
 
That said, there’s a non-trivial amount of technical knowledge required to set it up and maintain an instance.
