For the record (I’m the one who made that image and posted it in that other thread), I’m against the recent rule change and think that the only images that shouldn’t be allowed are ones that are illegal or are not related to MLP.
 
I just think that people who act like this rule change will ruin the site are overreacting. I understand the concern that more things might be banned in the future though, and can understand why people would be worried about that. But some people are talking about leaving the site already simply because of talk of banning Nazi/racist images - what if those images do get banned, but that’s the end of it, and no other types of images get banned? I’d say leaving the site over that would be an overreaction.

The problem is that this rule change has a potential of ruining the site from the way it used to be: a home for all the fetishes and subjects, as long as it’s pony related (assuming those things aren’t illegal in the country the site is hosted).

Yeah…
 
But that’s the main issue here: we do not know what will happen next.
 
And most people wouldn’t leave the site over that particular one ban.
 
But after things calm down, it would make the people who want this site to be “a cleaner place” more confident and bold with their damands.
 
Do you honestly think that people like those activists from Twitter would ever be satisfied until they shape this site to their own vision?

That would be a borderline miraculous diversion from the established pattern that we’ve seen play out time and time and time again. It’s like asking “but what if this time the cancer just stops spreading on its own?” And notably every time it’s happened, it’s always been “just this one thing” when it started. And maybe some of the people who say that honestly believe it. It’s never just the one thing, though.

We already know they wouldn’t. It started with BLM, then Aryanne and nazi imagery, then supposedly communism and marxism was to be next. The slippery slope isn’t a theory at this point, it’s observable reality.

What is happening is that people like you for some reason can’t grasp the concept of the freedom of expression of arts. :) And that’s the whole problem. You can’t understand it, so you slap labels on people.
 
Besides, to be fair, only a few countries specifically regulate “Nazi content” and most of them handle it similarly to Germany, which explicitly allows it in art in general, not just satire.
 
This site doesn’t follow German rules though, otherwise a lot of other art would be forbidden.

What is happening is that the pro-Nazi but anti-communism bloc are going “reeee why u attack Nazis, when we have communism”
 
 
If you cannot comprehend the very idea of defending something that you don’t endorse or take part in yourself then to me that says more about your world view then it does about those you perceive as wrong 🤷
 
I feel either you’re intentionally trying to provoke others or you genuinely cannot comprehend the idea of defending something if you don’t have personal stakes in it and that is why you project that everyone else must operate the same way. Either way I think there is an underlying flaw with the foundation you build upon..

You see, people keep bringing up this Voltaire’s quote for a very good reason:
 
“I wholly disagree with what you say and will contend to the death for your right to say it.”
 
This situation is very similar.
 
Please, find it inside you to understand: Some people can defend things just because they are being attacked, not because of any personal interest in them.
 
This is what I personally was doing. Defending the rights of ALL the arts on this site, without exceptions (though I draw the line when there’s an obvious propaganda and when it’s targeting real people with insults, racism or discrimination).
 
And at the same time, before all this drama I never had any interest in nazi content whatsoever. I simply ignored its existence.
 
It’s both frustrating and hilarious to see people labelling me or other people like me as “pro-nazi”. It makes zero sense to me!

Just take a second and think, is this really something you should defend? An ideology that explicitly murdered millions and triggered a global war?
 
Something that walking through my local city I can still point out locations that are a result o bomb damage.  
Or where I work has a memorial INSIDE the main floor of the site where a bomb detonated.

I’m not an insane Free Speech abolitionist, but I support Free Speech. There is a limit, and there are consequences of unlimited free speech.
 
Too much free speech, like you;re trying to support, is JUST as bad as extreme censorship.

Nazi content, is what you are defending here. That is what is being moderated, and kicked this all off.
 
Stop hiding behind “free speech” and “for the sake of artists” so instead accept the reality- you’re objecting to nazi content being removed.
 
That is why so many of the Anti-Nazi side have been (wrongly) calling you people Nazi’s, because that is what you are defending.

Yes because Nazi content is the thing that’s on the chopping block right now, you don’t have to agree with it but it’s the principle that counts, it might be Nazi stuff today but when that’s gone what’s next? It’s a slippery slope that people like you can tsee as you’re blinded by your ideology and can’t see the bigger picture here.

It’s not fallacy, like Evan said the people that want to ban Aryanne are already talking about how once she’s gone they can move onto the other stuff they don’t like, I would find it highly amusing if one day the outrage mob came for something you liked and there was nobody to help defend it as people like you drove everyone else away.

Okay, let’s follow your logic then:
 
  • We all claim that we defend the freedom for ALL arts (and we NEVER claimed to specifically defend just Aryanne or nazi content).
     
  • This site hosts arts and fetishes like: incest, bdsm, rape, scat, foalcon. (And most are in higher quantities than nazi arts).
     
    Therefore, by your logic, all people (who defend the freedom for ALL arts here) should be incest-loving bdsm-practicing rapist pedophiles that all have a scat fetish and also nazis?
     
    This is ridiculous, isn’t it?
