Considering they went through several replacements, and have entirely new admins who have been nothing but supportive of users concerned about censorship on derpi, yeah, I’m inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt.

This is a moral I overall agree with. Though it is okay to be willing to give them an olive branch but with how much they have jumped around over the past month I wouldn’t be so freely trusting as much as cautiously watching.

I have indeed changed to Princess Celestia in order to avoid confusion with the other Princess Luna. And besides, the thematic joke was just too good to pass up.
 
Although this account isn’t just a name change of my own account. I “borrowed” this account from it’s previous owner, who was a staff member and let me use it indefinitely.

What the fuck happened to that whole little deal when name changes first came out how comments and forum posts would have a “previously known as” bit stuck to them? Or is that just another broken feature now.
 
I said that name changes were going to be bad unless properly implemented when they first came out, and I’m saying the same thing now.
 
There’s no way that people aren’t going to be confused as fuck about this.

That is broken since Philomena, and is irrelevant because “Princess Celestia” is an entirely separate account.

They are bad, and it’s also extremely bad that instead of fixing the feature staff have been effectively wiping previous names with manual changes, but it is not the topic at hand.

So I see what the situation is:
 
  1. Princess Celestia is an old account that was given to Luna (von Rainy’) to use for admining, because this job is stressful af  
  2. Luna is left to be Luna (von Rainy’)’s personal account, not intended for moding.  
  3. Luna (von Rainy’) is engaged to this little angel :3 (which is just adorable)  
    and  
  4. She’ was also the site dev for Furbooru before byte[] resigned and handed her the reigns to derpi.
     
    I agree that reusing an old account can lead to confusion, though. Imo it would have been better if you retired the old account and renamed your main one to Princess Celestia, if you wished to keep the theme going.
