They certainly are, but when they’re in uniform they’re supposed to be on duty and their responses and actions will be taken as ‘Official’ unless explicitly stated.

I think we are arguing on the stuff. We shouldn’t be focusing on censorship we should be focus on how to make it look like it’s censorship but it’s not. Like in the setting like how nsfw is in the settings to turn them on or off.

This question is just distracting from the core issue of censorship.. they’ve already responded to this many times, as poorly as they’ve done so.
 
Basically, in their words, Nazis are an ideology of hate while BLM and communism and other things are “not about prejudice”.

They already achieve that. Just add non specific terms like “offensive” or “hateful” on banning list and they have free hands what they insert into that and what they dont.

There’s no reason to argue the specific politics behind whatever stances people are taking or what specific ideologies/ideas are being censored. Just don’t censor things and make people filter what they dislike. It’s really not that difficult to understand. The site has filters. The site has hide buttons. The site has a voting system. All of these exist so that there is absolutely no need for mods to censor anything, just put the responsibility on the individual user and enforce that responsibility.
 
All this argumentation about the semantics of nazism, BLM, whatever the fuck is all completely missing the point. In another era this could’ve been right-wing moderation censoring left-wing ideas. It literally does not matter at all what side is doing it. It’s authoritarian and defeats the purpose of an art site. The issue is not left or right, the issue is censorship.

well yes, of course, i just calling them on their hypocrisy here. And why its BS censoring curtain ideology because literally anything can be hateful. Communism hates rich people for example. So the rule where you ban “”“hateful””” pictures doenst make sense, since if they applied it without hypocrisy or pol. biases they would need purge 80% of derpibooru

Absolutely this. Trying to censor “the other” will only result in an endless loop of demands until we’re all left with little to nothing.

If they cared about prejudice they would ahve to, for example, ban zebradom off the site too since its basically just “zebras are black people now for no reason other then lol africa has zebras, but huge fucking stereotypes, saying racist shit while doing racist shit” And its racist in all directions.  
But hey, if someone wants to get off on that, thats their thing. After all, one can just filter it. Thats what I would have said two months ago, but as soon as Derpi decided to ban this and that selectively, that doesnt apply anymore. You cant ban stuff on some imaginary moral high ground and then apply double standards.  
If these new rules are because “people are offended” you have to basically delete most of the site anyways, or be a hypocrite.

You know, I keep seeing that word, and it’s really starting to annoy me that it does. The rule change is not censorship. No one here is saying you what you can or can’t draw. You absolutely can go and draw a picture that contains everything the rules here say you can’t, and upload it for display on any other image site that allows for such things. You just can’t post said picture here is all, just like many of the other images they’ve already specified cannot be posted here.
 
Seriously, the day Derpibooru can afford to send armed goons to your house to snap all your colored pencils and burn your sketches and whatnot over the subject matter of what you’ve drawn, feel free to use that word. But it really gets tiring that “hey, we in our capacity as an image hosting site looking to foster a good community are no longer hosting things that support hate groups and depict the advocates of actual genocide in a positive light” is causing people to react like they’ve announced the institution of an Orwellian police state.

Also, how about trying to move into a more productive talk, and closer to what the thread is intended to do? How do we go about approaching the site’s staff with a show that many of us find this new rule/implementation of rules against what the site is supposed to do/be? What’s a good way to send a clear message that we find this a bad idea?

I’m curious about something, instead of DNP, why not program a “no comment policy” on some tags?
 
Like, not even BLM, talking about the artists, if the artists don’t like what is said in their comments, can’t they just… disallow comments on their pictures? Or even ratings? FimFIc has that. Maybe it would reduce some of the “oppression” those people feel?

I would think that if all of the forum posts saying it’s a bad thing that’s poorly applied and artists calling it out as bad didn’t work and only received the responses it did, nothing will change their minds.  
The site staff seems pretty dead set on this no matter how poorly users react.

Yes but that’s not the point of the blog it’s to come up with a way to make that censorship doesn’t happen and we can undo it. Come up with ideas.

Many people already write good ideas, like leaving things how it was with hidding tags atc but mods completely ignore that.

You don’t understand. Derpibooru is arguably one of the most important sites to this fandom. The standard there making could hurt a lot of the fandom’s creative output as our fandom has a lot of stuff that is both at the core of our subculture and could be hurt by these standards.

So your argument is that banning “content that promotes, glorifies, or trivializes Nazism” and “content that promotes hatred and/or discrimination against others” will somehow hurt the “core of a subculture” for a show about colorful ponies learning about the magic of friendship? I’m sorry, but I have some very strong doubts about that. And as for the possibility it could “hurt a lot of the fandom’s creative output”, once again, this rule change does not mean people who really want to draw that stuff can’t draw it and host it elsewhere. There are a number of image subjects that already work like that, as they are already not allowed here. This just adds two more items to a list of things people draw regardless of whether they can be posted here.

What ways do we have to be heard?  
-DMs to the staff/making new threads regarding the topic?  
-Making art satirizing the situation?  
-Pulling economic support for the site (not that those who do it would probably want to, since it’s a bit of a “nuke it from orbit” option)?  
-Calling out on Twitter that only some of the “objectionable” content is allowed?
 
I don’t want it to be detrimental to the site, because I’ve been using it for years basically every day, but the staff don’t seem to be willing to listen to it’s userbase, and something needs to be done
