There isn’t a separate team for each thread on the site. If you ask about translations in a report, or in the Ask The Mods thread or in this thread, I’m most likely going to be the person who volunteers to answer your question.
 
The badge you’re asking about is one of the older badges on the site, and when it was created there was no hard criteria for ‘how to earn the badge’ - it’s not like the newer badges where you can search and know right away if someone qualifies for it.
 
It’s more like the badges that start out as personal gifts that staff sometimes give to people who help them, badges that we earned as a part of our Patreon support for the site that we turn into ‘badges we can give other people who help out with stuff here’.
 
Some of those badges become standardized over time and it’s easier to know when some one has earned it. Some of them still are in the ‘let’s see what that person has been doing that might earn them the badge’.
 
And right now, I think you agree that the person you are asking about isn’t doing anything that would earn them that badge. They aren’t translating other people’s artwork, and they aren’t participating in translations or helping others to translate images.
 
More importantly, you’re not likely to get a different answer by trying to ask someone else on staff. Asking the same question in different threads really makes it look like you’re trying to get a different answer.
 
Now that I’ve been talking with you about this in PMs, it would be great if we could stick to the PM, since there’s stuff that’s relevant to the answer to your question that you’ve said privately that I can’t mention in a public reply.

Is there a way to hide a user’s comments or block them altogether?

I don’t know if this is the right place to do this but why don’t staff punish people who don’t tag fetish art properly when they upload? Are there any rules about this? I’m really sick and tired of seeing fetish art get through my filters.

By fetish art I mean things like scat, gore, piss, ect.

We are, and there is rule #2 for handling these. Report or fix tagging, if you see the cases.  
||Looking into your filter — you maybe should hide urine and poop in general, not only acting/fetish aspects. ||

Staff can only know about improper tagging of “gross” fetishes such as body waste, hyper, etc. when the improper tagging is reported accordingly by users. When it comes to content that most users filter out, reporting is especially important, since so few users would be even seeing it, let alone paying attention to the tags.

Update your filter as you are not hiding all tags related to those fetishes and if you add those tags to images they don’t apply, that is an issue. Fix your filter.

That’s kind of rude to act like most people don’t see them or want to ngl. Either way, their filter is incorrect, I’m sure the images are tagged fine as 99.99% of the time they are.

I made no claims as to what themes might be most usually hidden by user filters. Furthermore, I don’t see how it’s rude to say that divisive fetishes/kinks are divisive, and fall under the implications of being so.

I wasn’t browsing on this account, I have a diff account that is essentially a porn dump. And that account has twice the amount of stuff blocked. I only use this account to upload my ocs art.

I am Not Sure if this counts for this thread, but what is the specific criteria for “artist”? does an artist whose main works are tagged with ‘meme’ or ‘1000 hours in ms paint’ count?

The badge thread (Badge Descriptions, Criteria, and Stuff) has the requirements for almost every badge on the site. Artist badge is nothing to “qualify” for, all you need is a verified link to where-ever you publish your art. If you don’t have (or don’t want to link) an outside page like a Twitter, IG, or DA account, your DB profile link will also do. You’ll also need at least one upload under your artist tag that shows some original artist input (“exploitable meme” and screenshots etc won’t count, of course).

Is it possible to view users that recently joined the site?

In the statistics section, there is a section called users and some that says “in the last 24 hours. X number of users have joined. By “joined”, do you mean brand new users or users that are logging in?

You need to have at least one unique work of art on the site. We don’t judge the quality of the piece, but it can’t be an edit of someone else’s work (unless it is transformative and stands as a separate work of art) or an image macro or edit of a screencap. It has to be something you made, no matter what tools or media you used.
