I am doing that right now and it says you can only file three reports at a time and abusing the report system is a bananable offence. That’s why I mentioned clogging the report system and taking forever.
I already filed 2 of them, both comments on different pictures by the same artist that I mentioned. I hope you discuss this with the other mods and find ways to prevent this from happening again. Thanks

Both reports were on on comments from 12 years ago, which in one case was dealt with immediately and publicly by staff, and the other was about a fanfic unrelated to the art it was on.

Thanks. I forgot it was that long ago. It’s just that I didn’t want anyone to get offended and restart unnecessary drama if they stumbled upon the art which is more unlikely than not.
I also forgot to mention recent comments and posts related to the artist and works are more positive and that’s a good thing.
Please don’t ban me if I abuse and clog the report system. thanks.

This is just a curiosity, not something I actually have a case needing investigation:
For aliased tags, can moderators or admins see what tag the user was trying to add instead? Most of the time this doesn’t matter, but it could be useful to see what someone was trying to add instead of invalid tag.

I miss the show so much
What do I do after my report is closed and the reported user continues their reportable behavior in total silence, ignoring all communication attempts?
It’s obvious at this point that the user does not care. So do I just keep filing reports again and again until I’m the one who gets banned?
It is unfortunate that I have to go this far. But they chose the path of total silence. They really leave no other choice except reports.

Please report them again, so we can see if our earlier attempts to moderate the situation failed because of a communication issue, or because the user is a freaking jerk who refuses to follow rules.

Is it? Maybe they’re not able to understand what they are being asked because of a language barrier. Sometimes people do what they think we asked them to do but they misunderstood or we miscommunicated. Or, maybe they don’t care. In which case we’ll escalate our response.
And maybe it’s another one of those completely and utterly triggered and obsessed people who have been doing the same thing for so long and we’ve banned them so much that we are now banning entire countries or entire ranges of browser and platform combinations just to try to get them to fuck off?
I mean, there are absolutely belligerent and somehow neurodivergent people who only come here to start fights, or change one tag on one image, over and over and over and when we make it impossible for them to do that one thing they’ve been doing that they won’t stop they find a new thing to do that’s just as bad but harder to detect?
So please report it.
And if you are concerned that your reports aren’t working, let us know. In the report ask for someone to reply to you explaining why you have to keep reporting the same problem again and again.

Kind of sounds like you would like to be, or have attempted to be, a moderator and are trying to change someone else’s behavior yourself. If that is what is happening, please stop.

I’m confident it’s not a language barrier. They write perfectly fine image descriptions.
I admit it is possible they literally do not know how to use the site and do not notice the PM indicator. There’s no way for me to know.

It’s just a nagging feeling that by hitting the report button on anything that isn’t obvious spam I’m basically just pointing a gun at someone. “I shouldn’t have to do this.”
If someone is breaking our rules, that’s between us and them, isn’t it? Why should anyone you reported ever talk to you about it?
The reason is that the original issue is laughably small. A non-issue. It’s just some light, but systematic tag misuse (around 80 images and counting, at the moment). It could be resolved in five minutes if we could talk. But they won’t respond and they continue the misuse. There is no five-minute talk. A mediator has to be brought in, ie. a mod, in an attempt to make the other side to listen what I’ve got to say. It’s just “hey, I noticed you’re doing this simple thing X constantly incorrectly, here’s how to do it correctly” and that’s it. Nothing else should be needed. This thing, if implemented, will make this even worse, because then every non-issue becomes an issue because you can’t speak to the other side. They block you after the first message and ignore what you said.

I kinda do that every time I tell someone they’re using a tag incorrectly, like here, or every time I ask someone to provide source and artist information to an image they’ve uploaded. It’s even against the site rules (rule #2). But no one has ever asked me to stop it in the decade or so that I’ve been doing it. I don’t want to involve the mods if an issue can be resolved by simply talking. 98% of the time I fix the poor tagging myself and move on without saying anything. Sometimes I even make a cursory search and attempt to locate the original image myself. It’s the 2% that causes problems.
So please report it.
Maybe next week after this stress month is over.

If you click ‘Remove Conversation’ the message disappears and it’s gone from the user interface. You can’t find it again and you can’t reply to it and if someone replies to that message you don’t get a notification. It doesn’t exist as far as your view of the site is concerned.
HOWEVER - If you keep a copy of the URL of the message (or keep the message open in a window) then open that URL (or continue to use the open window of the ‘Removed’ message that you didn’t close) the ‘Remove Conversation’ button becomes ‘Restore Conversation’ and you can restore it and reply to it again.
So … yes, you CAN restore a hidden message but only if you have the URL of the message. Even if you have ‘hidden’ a message, you can still see it if you have a direct link to it.
It just doesn’t show up in any normal views of the site, like in your list of ‘Conversations’. ‘Removing’ the conversation makes it disappear from your notifications and the historical list of conversations.
Within the user interface I see no way that a user can see messages they’ve ‘Removed’, and there is no way for me as a moderator to see you hidden messages because I can’t see messages unless I have the url (like, if you ‘Report Conversation’). Private messages are private, and moderators can’t seem them - ‘Removed’ or not - unless we are specifically invited to do so by receiving a report or one of the participants giving us the actual URL of the message.

Some site like Furafinity does not support a transparent background for images, but replaces it with a black one. Why, when I uploaded the version with a transparent background - the version of art that the artist intended - clean version was merged with black one?
TB version have many tag’s, which Black Background Version have not.

The black background is what’s at the source, and it doesn’t have the aliasing of the edit, so it’s definitely not going to be merged into the edit.
