A proof that Nazi weren't being promoted or getting pupular on this site!

Background Pony #896E
To everyone, who thinks that Nazi took hold of this site and were promoting their ideas and getting popular as a result, just by posting Aryanne or other Nazi arts…

I propose to conduct a little experiment.

Search for this (with NO filters), and look at the amount of results.

created_at.lte:4 years ago

Found arts: 1 047 741

These are ALL the arts on the site from 4 years ago to the very first art uploaded here.

Now, search for this:

nazi, created_at.lte:4 years ago

Found arts: 2 058

These are ALL the “nazi” tagged arts from 4 years ago to the very first art uploaded here.

And now let’s search for the following:

created_at.lte:0 years ago

Found arts: 2 160 492

ALL the arts on the site!

The amount is 2.06 times more than it was 4 years ago.

nazi, created_at.lte:0 years ago

Found arts: 3 634

ALL the “nazi” tagged arts on the site!

The amount is 1.77 times more than it was 4 years ago.

CONCLUSION:

The percentage of “nazi” tagged art has decreased on this site considerably, within last 4 years!

The “nazi” ideas didn’t become more popular here, despite the presence of those “nazi” OR “Aryanne” pictures at all!

If anything, “nazi” and “Aryanne” became less popular!

That percentage of “nazi” tagged arts, by the way is less than 1%.
It’s just 0.2 of 1% of ALL the arts on the site currently.

So, please, stop all this drama about nazi being a danger to this site, because it’s A LIE!

It all just looks like a deception used by malicious people, to destabilize the site and its userbase.

And it all will just result in a lot of censorship, besides nazi stuff, enforced on the site.

There are already activists who are claiming they will go after more things than just nazi, after they get what they want!

Stop the total censorship, before it’s too late!

Hopefully when the next article is written about this site, mods just point to this.

No, you see, the fact that Nazi and Aryanne is getting less popular is a common alt-right tactic to make people believe that Nazism is not popular so that real Nazis can…grow…in.. influence…?

I need help here guys, someone help me spin this.
Background Pony #75B5
Yeah, but an alternate reading of this could easily be, “There’s so little of it that deleting it all wouldn’t be a major loss to the community.”
Background Pony #896E
The point is:

If someone thinks that seeing Aryanne picture within a neutral context will make people consider becoming a Nazi or supporting their ideas, that someone is being absolutely ridiculous and unreasonable.

It’s less that I like censorship and more that I really fucking hate nazis.

Can’t avoid it on the forums even if I do filter it.

There’ll always be some nazism and racism as long as it’s not banned outright, filters or no filters.

The hazards of the internet. I really dislike commies, but you don’t see me advocating for their removal from the site as you are the other half of the auth spectrum.

Anti-authoritarian here as far as legal speech is concerned, myself.

Nazi speech shouldn’t be criminalized by the government, but I’m all for private businesses and websites banning whoever they like - especially Nazis. By deplatforming and delegitimizing them, but not jailing or killing or doing anything illegal to them, it’s possible to hurt their movement and stifle their ideas without actually violating their human rights.

Private entities can ban whoever they like, and I think banning nazis is always the right decision.

I’d disagree if they did ban reasonable people, but it’s their site and ultimately all I have the power to do is complain or leave. I might do the former and - if ignored - follow it up with the latter.

What other options are there, really?

  • Complain
  • Leave
  • Ignore

If there’s any other option for dealing with a site whose policies you disagree with, I’m open to it.

Banning nazis, yes. Banning their comments, yes.

But an art of a horse with no bad context, except just a mark on her flank, is NOT equal to nazi or hate speech!

It’s just a fetish art: some people might fantasize about having sex with a nazi pony.
So what?
Any fetish has the same rights for exploration in art or fiction!

One of the unfortunate problems of banning nazis from just like everywhere, is that all it does is push them further and further into extremism with no counter to their arguments. Giving them pushback that doesnt outright silence them can assist in their deradicalization. You end up just creating a far right echo chamber that gets more and more aggressive with no dissent.

I’ve found the opposite to be true.

When mainstream discussion forums ban far-right extremism, it makes “normies” less likely to be sucked into the alt-right pipeline, because that content isn’t there to radicalize them in the first place.

Think of how many moderately conservative people became full-blown fascists thanks to the Youtube algorithm (Youtube being the second most visited site in the world so it’s pretty widely used) constantly showing them video after video from increasingly extreme pundits.

Allowing this kind of content makes it more acceptable and more mainstream. Banning it has the opposite effect, and in the case of nazism I’m all for private entities exercising their right to push nazis out.

Except, on derpibooru you won’t see nazi content unless you actively remove it from your filter.

And again, Aryanne fetish arts are not automatically equal to nazi promotion. It all depends on context.
