Lingering Wyvern
Thinking of an un-ironed out aspect of my world, the sylvan subtypes.
Everblossom: The greenest of types(by their own judgement), these are likely the first type of sylvan a traveler will come across, laying claim to the most mater trees throughout the world. These were the first to meet the green orcs. Known to be easy to rouse but generally relaxed, they occupy a comfortable middle-of-the-road temperament in the eyes of most.
Redpulp: Darker than their Everblossom cousins, these sylvans are gargantuan compared to their kin, with even the shortest of their brownies easily mistaken for an elf. Their notable size makes them a bit more arrogant as well, and will come to a tussle faster than even some orcs. The mater trees of the redpulp are not as numerous, and hence come under more protection than others. Their bark may be dense, but they sacrifice some speed for their durability.
Openpalm: Sunny in disposition, these sylvans occupy more tropical spaces where a mater trees able to grow. Their mother trees are unknown in number, as they seem to move with more frequency than other mater trees, possibly due to their choice of environment. They come in both quite squat and very tall figures. But whatever their shape, everyone knows the openpalm love to party, seeming to always be in a state of bliss and plenty. They raise spirits (and health bars) wherever they are. But they can be susceptible to sickness and other debilitations, even if they pass quickly.
Deadwood: Known by a name they did not choose, these sylvans are a brittle breed that originate from a mere trio of mater trees in the northern reaches. Coming from infertile soil, sparse food, and (thought to be) weak leyline magic, this subtype is known not to hang around their land of origin for very long, but are still rare to see outside it. Their disposition are best described as bitter and cold, and nearly all other types avoid or ostracize them when they’re discovered. Despite or perhaps because of this cynical existence, they’re the type that gets along best with grey orcs, whom most others sylvans equally shun. Some even attempt to learn necromancy from these new relations.
