That's... kind of always been the case though. Every change localizers make has to be approved by the Japanese company.
This is not a new thing. Even in the 90's, this was always how it worked.
But I wouldn't expect some idiot (not referring to you, btw) screaming about how localization is evil and "muh censorship" to know that.
What 4Kids does is legitimate censorship.
