Video Game General 2: Definitive/Remastered Edition

I dislike it when games where the player is soloing everything still portrays cutscenes and dialogue as if they’re part of a larger group.

Looking at you, COD Zombies and Borderlands.

I don’t remember that from Borderlands 2. And at least Borderlands is meant to be a multiplayer game.

I’m glad Elden Ring’s dlc didn’t win VGA’s GOTY.

Not that I have anything against it, I just stand on principle that a dlc shouldn’t win GOTY. Especially when they had to rig the contest just to allow it to be nominated in the first place.

So yeah, lotta things VGA does wrong but in this specific and narrow case they did something right.

Platinum Games might be imploding right now. With the announcement of Okami 2 and Kamiya’s new studio Clovers, people are finding out tons of major talent have been leaving in droves including Saito(MGR, Transformers), Taura(Astral Chain, Nier), Tinari(Bayonetta Origins) and Yamanaka(Anarchy Reigns)

Borderlands is a loot and shoot.

Been getting into the Diablo series lately. Beat Diablo 1 and working through 2, though I think I prefer 1 overall. May get 3 on Switch for Xmas, not interested in trying out 4.

If you want Gothic Diablo, there’s Grim Dawn.

Since Witcher 4 is coming, I should probably get to playing 3 again.

I now have Digimon World: Data Squad under my belt. Other than the annoying evolution requirements, the digimon’s mood affecting what commands you can give it (I wish I was joking), and the final boss being a fast bullet sponge whose every attack has a chance to instant-kill the target, it was OK.

So Goldeneye 007 plays a LOT better on the Xbox Series X than it does on Nintendo 64. Unfortunately, you have to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to get it.
