While I don’t get very creative when I use character creator, I don’t care about having too many options (though it does feel a little pointless when your head/face is covered for 95% of the game).

And people pissing their pants over pronouns is just hilarious and sad. It’s like being pissed at a game having a gay romance option. They’re both optional, so if you don’t want to go down that route, you don’t have to.

How is Starfield doing a year after release?

Dropped a new expansion not too long ago and holds an active player count around the average of the Fallouts.

according charts. it has almost less then half of current Fallout 4 and just a slight more of new Vegas, likely due to Bethesda’s recent “update” that broke a lot of mods.

That’s the neat part. These alt-right shitheads don’t want the option to be there AT ALL. They’re so far down the rabbit hole that they’re unironically advocating for less customization and less options for players.

They claim they don’t hate queer folks, but then yell about a barely noticable trans flag, or go on a rant about a new Lara Croft figure having a “DEI” chin (yes, that’s an actual thing that someone said), or screech about pronouns (which, mind you, is something that WE ALL FUCKING HAVE).

Starfield is chugging along but little has really improved. They have added a rover for planetary exploration, and while it helps you get to the point of interest faster it’s still just the same point of interest you have seen 20 times before. Menus have improved a bit and maps have been added. Creation club and mods have also been added.

The expansion Shattered Space is dropping sept 30th. Bethesda say everything will be contained to the Varun homeplanet and that they have “listened” to fans. I hope they will use the occasion to add more things to the base game as well.

Starfield has made me realise just how unshakable the “location = planet” trope in sci-fi is. It’s almost like cyberpunk being only at night in downtown areas, or pony shows prohibiting humans and being aimed at pre-preteen girls.

It’s because planets are really big, so unless they want to spend the whole story exploring just one planet, then some simplification is required, which goes triple for video games.

Starfield always came across to me as very empty. There is not much going on. The procedural generation’s repetitiveness does not help much. The setting also lacks sentient aliens and their worlds which often makes other sci fi settings appealing. Lorewise all the interesting stuff have happened 20-30 years ago and now everyone is at peace. Game could have been a lot more interesting.

After looking up a tutorial on YouTube, I have created a rudimentary shooter that’s slightly on par with Asteroids.

Still trying to look for a job, but I’m about to go to an interview in a few hours.
