Good to hear. At least has enough on its own so that Sonic Colors can at least be played in a decent format for newer systems.
Also, you either hate the lighthearted approach that the story of Colors went with or the writing team behind the game.

Well that but they usually have less cartoony styles.

I got him on my first try. IIRC I only died 9 times in the first chapter, all to Jevil Deltarune.

In the second chapter I died once to a mook, twice to that same teacup, twice to Giga Queen, and once to Berdly.

I’m not surprised at how much more difficult Chapter 2 was to 1, but I am at how much easier Spamton was to Jevil.

It was the writing team. I’m honestly one of the few people who think that Sonic stories can work well with either a lighthearted OR serious tone. But Ken Pontac and Warren Graff just aren’t fit for the series. At all.

I’ll never understand why a game like Octopath refuses to have everyone gain exp, not just the active party. It’s an annoying handicap in a game that hates giving exp.

I tried to run around with my B team to level them up to something respectable. They were just too low level to handle the big boys, and I did not have the patience to grind them with mid-game mooks.

So for the last half of each story I had 3 overleveled characters and 1 scrub.

I’m going to get the exp badge before that. Turns out it’s the cleric and warrior’s storylines that you need to complete to unlock its quest, not the scholar. They’re both on my A team, so it’s not an issue for me.

P5 Royal only has one more character than Octopath. And every character always gains EXP no matter if they’re in the party or not.

I’m mostly joking though. I understand that Octopath Traveller and P5R target different parts of the JRPG fanbase.

It has a story where someone says Your Excellency all the time. I don’t think I’m gonna miss it, especially after watching the video Dunkey made about the game.

You talking shit about the cinnamon-roll? And Dunkey made it clear multiple times that JRPGs aren’t this thing. That’s like asking someone who hates sci-fi what they think of Mass Effect or Star Wars.
