That’s what people thought of the Star Wars Prequels, and now those fans love that trilogy for all the reasons they hated it before.
True, as that’s the argument I use about all the latter-season FiM haters…but while I can see that applying to PDZ to some degree, I don’t expect to see a lot of fans come out of the woodwork and paise it as an under-appreciated gem. Using the Star Wars analogy, PDZ is more akin to the holiday special or those two Ewoks movies I was suckered into renting way back in the 90s (fuck you Blockbuster! I’ll never forgive you for that!), where it was announced with fanfare, but landed with a thud.
The only people I can see defending it are the usual contrarian shitheads like Razorfist who up until the new PD game is shown, they completely ignored it.
Honestly, the game I’m really expecting to see get an immense reevaluation before the next entry is Mass Effect Andromeda. Mass Effect 4 (or whatever they end up calling it) will be decried as a lame return-to-form, and how Andromeda although flawed, at least tried something different™️!
