At least Cyber Sleuth and Hacker Memory allows you to auto battle.

Reading some reviews for Dead Space 3 just makes me more sad the series was taken to the back of the barn. It ends on a seemingly impossible cliffhanger, but as one guy points out Planet Cracker-class vessels are a thing! The entire first game took place on a big-ass spaceship meant to pull city sized chunks of land off planets, and that’s how humanity could fight back against the Brethren Moons.
The series’ final twist and ultimate villains are perfectly suited for defeat from something the first game set up. This series died too soon.

I think I recall hearing that Ellie was supposed to be the protagonist in the next game too had it been made.

Ded Spess Remake adds a feature that I only realized has been missing from the original but is present in modern horror zombie shooter titles like L4D or Dying Light.

Visible permanent damage on the zombies (necro), skin peeling off, etc.
In DS the only indication that you just shot a necro is either limb falling off or the searing hot marks you left on where you shot them, which dissipates soon after.
Now the remake seems to tell you the health of a limb based on how it looks. If it’s just bones then it’s close to being snapped off. If it’s still covered in skin and muscle then the limb is at full health.
This could add another depth to the shoot the limb mechanic especially on harder difficulty where ammo is scarce.

Here lies Martyr Logarius. He thought combo spamming would save him. He was wrong.
