the newer ones are more like Civ but with Xcom battles as an option, while the older ones are warcraft clones,

Guys, I need some advice.
A guy from Twitter cracked a game, but according to him, the game keeps erasing his save file, or it doesnt even let him save at all.
And he asked me if I can share my savedata from my original same game I have that I bought on Steam.
Tell me, sharing my savedata is safe? does it have or doesnt have repercussions? It is dangerous?

Everyone always talks about the tragedy of Aeris’s death in FF7 but no one ever talks about Phantasy Star 2 doing the same thing almost a decade earlier.
Under much more tragic and grim circumstances.

At that point RPGs weren’t mainstream, the big genres in the late 80s were platformers and SHMUPs*. Prior to FF7, PAL countries had very few RPGs released, namely Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest, Lufia II and Breath of Fire II, and if WhoIsThisGit is any indication, one or two Phantasy Star games. FF7 was I believe the 5th console turn-based RPG of NTSC origin to get a PAL release.
*Both are basically dead genres now. Not dead dead, but definitely not mainstream except for Mario. Fighting games would overtake the latter with Street Fighter 2, and first-person shooters would overtake the former and to a lesser extent fighting games after Halo and are still going as strong as ever.

I imagine more people played FF7 over Phantasy Star 2, so that could be the reason.

Depends
Some games nowadays don’t even load save data that doesn’t match the original owner of the game
If the save file has your personal data on it then something far worse is going on behind the scenes.
Make a backup and be ready to report the guy if he misuses the file you got him

Sonic Forces.
@QuasarNova
I will try that.
I am just to nervous about sharing my things. What bothers me more is that he is new to the game, but giving my savedata makes me think he will jump half of the game, or steal my records…

Is it only the save files that are being affected? If so, it could be an anti-piracy countermeasure. If that’s the case, sending the guy your save data might not help, since his game might just end up deleting that too.

Time to get spooky
I decided to hop onto DS3 and play my Berserker character. I than remembered that there’s a greataxe user near the first bonfire on the High Wall, where I was, and tried to farm him. I got 7 levels off of it, and he had 2 drops, neither of them the weapon. I swear, I spent nearly two hours on it. I’m a little pissed at it.

I dunno, platformers seem to be making a comeback, with the Crash, & Spyro collections, and Indie platformers like Shovel knight & Shantae are quite popular. Plus, platformers are still popular with the retro crowd.
Schmups are still popular in Japan, in fact, they’re much more popular there then FPS games are.

I mean the talking raptor on Sanctuary.
It literally just shows up early in the game and they act like it’s always been there.
And again, Warcraft did it already!
