Well, apart from him anyway. I meant more full reviews now that the early release has happened. Those have been mostly positive apart from a few “This part is too weird for me” nitpicks.

Yeah, but I believe the Crash comparison was originally a joke poking fun at those.

There are still several who’ve made the same type of remarks about several games. Such as GameRant made a list on how to “fix” doom eternal, and a lot of it was “Add an easier mode, and remove all obstacles.”

Which reminds me, I need to complete CTR Adventure mode on Hard Mode.

Nobody takes GameRant seriously though, not even other gaming news sites. Also, I’m pretty sure Doom Eternal already HAS an easy mode (though ironically enough it’s still harder than Doom 2016, which also had that one infamous video).
 
And even considering all that… so fucking what? There’s nothing wrong with wanting an easier difficulty within reason. And I already pointed out that a lot of this is because of tight deadlines due to needing to maximize engagement.

Be aware that there are certain games that will mock you for choosing easy mode.

And I think that’s a problem with how the internet has given people more of a “I want it now” attitude more than ever, to the point of it being harmful. Not to mention shit like crunch being another problem.

Yeah I mean, at least Doom gives you the option of an easy mode. Though, I think Doom Eternal’s difficulty modes are all a step above Doom 2016’s equivalent. Ultra Violence feels a lot like Nightmare in Doom 2016, maybe not as hard but it’s harder than 2016’s UV.

Usually Wolfenstein and Doom did that, I can’t remember many more. Wolfenstein’s “Can I play Daddy?” with a baby headdress wrapped B.J., and Doom’s “I’m too young to Die!” can be seen as mocking.
