In a journal during that mission where you have to infiltrate a Thalmor party.
 
He was captured and forced to give information that allowed the Thalmor to sack the imperial city. Or so he thought. Than they let him go and kept tabs on him because they knew he would likely start shit they could use to their benefit.

Reading it, I see it more of them giving him the idea than direct indoctrination, especially considering that the second paragraph shows that they think that someone unleashed the dragons to stop his execution, showing that they aren’t as smart as they think they are.

I never got to the Greybeards, so I never even looked at that journal outside of videos.

The goal of Skyrim independence is a worthy one but ulfric is driven by guilt and hatred of the Thalmor and inadvertently plays into their hands by starting the war. His level of complicity prior to the game is up for interpretation.

The character i played, already embittered by the war Assumes the worst and loses his shit, going full Dracula to escape the guilt and spite the gods.

Seeing as how Talos is important to the nords, and the Empire taking it away after said nords got rid of the Foresworn after being promised to keep their freedom of religion, it’s a bit more than simply a hateboner from a racist old man.

If you get the Peace Talks quest then Ulfric is willing to give up an entire fort just so he doesn’t have to be in the same room as Elenwen.
 
The civil war does have several layers to it. Ulfric does too. But his hatred for the Thalmor is a pretty big layer.

Never said it wasn’t. Racism is kind the Stormcloack’s biggest flaws, like the inability to worship Talos in the Empire. I plan the Thalmor for both.

I do hope that Beth doesn’t try to top the world eater in TES6, and focus on the game itself rather than trying to make the final boss more impressive than it needs to be.

Arena: Villain wanted to destroy the world because Mehrunes Dagon told him to.  
Daggerfall: Bunch of factions each with their own plans. Plans that range from godhood, world domination, world destruction, and everything in-between. Either way it involves a giant stompy robot whose skin is the dwarven race.  
Morrowind: Villain wants to turn everyone into gods by making them zombies.  
Oblivion: Villain wants to destroy the world because he is Mehrunes Dagon.  
Skyrim: Villain wants to rule the world because fuck you he’s a dragon.
 
Larger than life villains crafting world endangering plots is kinda the series’ trope.

I’m not even sure there’s any information on TES 6 besides “It’s set in Hammerfell” ATM.
 
And even then I don’t think Hammerfell being the setting was officially announced yet; people are just making educated guesses based on the scenery from the announcement teaser.

If I think about it, nowadays console War is pretty much Nintendo’s fault. The reason? Maybe many of you didn’t know, but Nintendo and Sony were supposed to have a Console together back in the 90s after the SNES, but for some reasons Nintendo made blow up the agreement at the very last minute and they made one with… Philips… (which gave life to that abortion of the CDi and then to those horrible Zelda and Mario games…). Afterward Sony went solo and made the first Playstation and from then one it became the unbeaten king of gaming.
 
If only Nintendo didn’t stop the agreement they did with Sony at the very last, they wouldn’t be in this mess, and Nintendo fans wouldn’t get kicked by expressing appreciation for liking Nintendo games. In other words: ALL OF THIS MESS IS NINTENDO’S FAULT.
