Video Game General 2: Definitive/Remastered Edition

I’ve been on a Borderlands kick lately but skeptical of 3.

I blame the marketing. When the Fallout 76 team does a better job at marketing their game than you, you fucked up.

I still can’t get over the fact that Shenmue 3 apparently still won’t even finish the story (among other aspects of its rather disastrous Kickstarter and development).

I heard that the creator didn’t even want to make Shenmue 3, and used Kickstarter for motivation.

Wouldn’t surprise me since it’s been so long. He had probably given up on ever finishing the story.

I think it’s moreso that the series wasn’t making enough money for him to want to work on it.

Yeah, since the second game bombed. And the “remasters” apparently aren’t very good either.

As I understand it, the budget for the first two games was quite huge for their time, so they basically had no real hope of making a profit (especially after the Dreamcast’s failure).

Maybe they needed to be cheaper. I mean, that worked for the Friday the 13th series, so why not for Shenmue?

I think I have a soft spot for Radobaan, since I have a part breaking fetish.

What video game do you like, but everyone doesn’t?

I wish leviathans were in World.

Jump Force. And maybe Sonic Unleashed to an extent. Ita confusing knowing the critical consensus of a Sonic game nowadays.

Crash of the Titans is a game I like, but everyone hates it. Yeah, I don’t have the same tastes that the fans of the Crash Bandicoot franchise have, but it is a guilty pleasure of course.

Shenmue 2 was the most expensive game to be made for almost a decade after it was released IIRC.

Lava serpent from 3 is still a favorite of mine for the same reason.
 
And I can’t say I do as well.

That PVZ game is actually buyable without EA access.
 
But I’ve spent far too much money this pay cycle.

Can I say that Visual Novels aren’t that really great?

Best to avoid for a month or so when it’s on sale for $20. It’ll go that route. Hell, I don’t even know about that as it’s so poorly optimized it’s killing Xbones.
