I wouldn’t say the franchise was in a coma for a decade.

Inquisition did gang-busters from what I can tell, but Bioware’s been busy with other titles (which had their own set of development issues). Coupled that with EA gutting their Montreal division, alongside AAA development becoming ever more unsustainable, and I can see why it took them so long to come out.

Fair, though it still came out well after the iron was hot. Doesn’t help that the time gap was also part of the reason they toned down on the transfer mechanic that Mass Effect and Dragon Age are known for.

TBF isn’t Inquesition like, 10 years old or something?

We’ve gone through 2 console generations in that time, I don’t think the tech is there to track down save data from a fane tgat old.

Given the circumstances, the game allowing you to select an abridged version of the previous games events is probably the best option

DA2 and DA:I couldn’t connect either, but that’s why they made Dragon Age Keep, so you can still transfer your choices in DA:O and DA2 to DA:I and see what those choices lead to.

What games did they focus during that time?

Andromeda and Anthem.

10 year period between Inquisition and Veilguard they only had 2 games released. 3, if you count the ME Legendary edition.

I mean at least it’s not EA’s usual annual release of slop.

Don’t forget, Anthem was meant to be a “live-service” game that would get continually updated with more content. So they likely spent an extra couple years following the release developing DLC for it, before EA dropped the hammer.

After fooling around with too many things I finally got my laptop to run Marvel Rivals.

It’s good. I think my mains for now are going to be Jeff the Land Shark (Marvel’s good-est good boy), Venom (Marvel’s GOAT) and Magneto (Marvel’s guy who was right all along).

So far my gripes are mostly nitpicks about cosmetics. Venom gets his Anti Venom alt, but it fell into the usual trap of being just a recolor. Anti Venom has his own design. But fine whatever, the one that really runs me is that Hulk doesn’t have a Joe Fixit alt.

That and Hulk’s ultimate move turns him into “Monster Hulk” which…is just a more muscular Savage Hulk. With a name like that I was hoping for Devil Hulk. I guess one of Hulk’s alta does look like Immortal Hulk so close enough?

TBF the game literally just game out. IT seems like they want “Season 0” to focus on original cosmetics and the MCU stuff (like 90% of the store is MCU outfits), THEN they can add in the more obscure/unique stuff

So my boy Joe Fixit gets shafted for more MCU synergy, despite/perhaps because of the MCU itself blue balling us on Mr. Fixit too.

It’s a good thing Jeff the Good-est Boy hums the Jaws theme.

You seem to forget that these things Nedd to appeal to the masses/casuals a bit more then the hard-core nerd crowd :p

It’s decently fun; flashy and generally quick gameplay loop, lot of variety between all the heroes.

My main gripe is how so many have fairly eh melee where they just slap their hands around wildly and AoE anything nearby. That and some ranged “you die now” tossed in to the mix (looking at you, Hawkeye…) that feels out of place.

I would give it a try but I’m already invested in like 3 other live services. Warframe, WoW, and uh. Actually just those two. WoW by itself is a big time commitment lol

Yeah I’ve noticed that too. Particularly with the Hulk.

You know, Marvel’s premier “Oh shit it’s him!” character? Yeah that massive 800 HP pool is a lie, he insta-dies the moment he tries to sissy-slap an opponent. Which he can’t even do, because despite the animation showing him throwing a bunch of sweeping hooks the hitbox is actually him throwing jabs; no AOE for the big guy.

Meanwhile it’s only been a day but I’m already having ’Nam flashbacks anytime I hear Scarlet Witch scream “Pure! CHAOS!”

Regarding Marvel Rivals and balance, I find it funny that in a game consisting of mutants, aliens, mechs and literal GODS, the best in terms of overall damage and aggression is just a pissed off vigilante with a machine gun :P
