@Meanlucario
It might be. Especially if it is a strategy game like Hearts of Iron.
Honestly if a game did come out though perhaps it would be best to have it come out a few years after the war ends.
I do know it was somewhat controversial when Medal of Honor 2010 came out some vets criticized the fact you could play as the Afghans in the war. And these days there might be more opposition to that.
I guess to be really safe you could just stick to single player story as the Ukrainian or volunteers for now.

Read an interesting piece the other day about the risk some developers take with continuous development. The “Game of Theasus” where the game is redeveloped with patches, updates, and community changes so many times that very little of the core game remains.
Paradox is particularly bad for this, Stellaris for example. There isn’t a single system in the game that’s the same now as when it was first released. The old joke of “its a whole new game” is incredibly literal with that one.
There’s a few others that are like that, both AAA and indy.
At what point is a game a complete product, and how far is too far when it comes to redesigning a “living” game.

At least Civ 6 allows you to play older game modes (like Rise and Fall and what came before it).

A while back I happened to watch a video talking about the financing models of games in the 90s and the 00s vs the financing models that have been in effect since the mid-10’s. Video gaming has in general been progressively expanding as an industry with consistent over-time growth. Especially as cost of entry to playing video games goes down so it can expand into new markets. However, the nature of that growth twenty years ago was much more erratic than it is today.
Developers in the past had to fluff the time between major releases with smaller low-budget games to keep the lights on at the studio before they drop their big generational block-buster game. The smaller releases may not be major sellers, or marketed all that heavily since they were intended to be drip fed out to keep a somewhat consistent stream of income for the studios. They impacted relatively poorly in the balance sheets vs a release like Halo or Grand Theft Auto and so investors were overly cautious because the year-to-year performance of a big studio like Bungie, Rockstar, or Rare would be very poor until they release the next Halo or Grand Theft Auto that’s been in the works for the last five years.
But the advent of the loot-crate, live-service model, and constant DLC release schedule as developed by Valve or Starwars Battlefront III (the first game I can remember where the paid-loot system was controversial) opened a new way of financing video game development because it meant developers could cut back on developing low-budget, uncertain, mid-performing titles and just focus on a bunch of small updates to their existing games and sell those updates in-perpetuity. Buying keys to open randomly assigned and dropped crates to players became a new way to pad out the budget sheets and made the income or growth of income for a studio more consistent over time and more attractive to studio investors and the financing side of game development.
OF course this means we now get less “Ty the Tasmanian Tiger” in our life and more 300 DLCs and pay-for content drip on a single title over a time-span of seven or ten years. So Paradox doesn’t have to release Stellaris 2 so long as Stellaris 1 exists and can just be transformed over time to Stellaris 2 until the engine breaks of the graphical fidelity on that game breaks down and shows its age. Then you release Stellaris 2 with new visual and rendering updates you can’t otherwise force into it, the way Crusader Kings 3 works over 2.

I think HOI4 has went through three or four major combat width changes since I started playing? A lot of the division template guides from back in the day are hilariously out of date as a result
I’m not even going to get started on EU4, that game is straight up a different product altogether from the game I bought over a decade ago

@Dustcan
Fun Fact about the kid: He appeared in a shit ton of games that never arrived here in the West. He was in the backstory of Wormmon’s tamer in 02 and was there when said tamer was infected after they defeated a demi-god digimon, and in a game he had Tai’s Agumon contact him so he could save the Adventure gang.

STOP KOSA!
Pyro is such a weird fucking class, not just design and character wise but also in gameplay:
Other Combat Classes use actual guns that fire bullets or explosives as primaries but Pyro:
Fire is indeed a destructive force but it’s not what one mainly thinks of in relation to warfare nowadays.

Which game are you referring to, Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom? Because there’s a piece of clothing in both games’ tutorial that can give you a level-1 cold resistance.
