With the Brotherhood, you have to convince Danse not to be executed to show how dedicated the faction is to their cause, since he’s their rep to the player, like how X6-88 is cold and calculating like the Institute. X6-88 is Red Son’s Brainiac. And if you do that side quest, extorting is one option. Another is paying and yet another convincing them. It’s called player choice. And for the last point, you need to be specific. Ghouls and super mutants are created, not born. Same with synths, unless you mean mentality born (though that goes back to the “does this unit have a soul” question, which the BoS and Institute replies “no”). They’re extremists in an extreme world.

And as for the Institute, they are the “casualties are just a number.” They are cold and calculating. Again, go watch Superman Red Son, Gods and Monsters’s Superman, or Superman: Collateral Damage – Detail Diatribe. That is how the Institute works. They’re morally wrong, but they are still trying to do good.

And never mention Old Worlds Blue to me. I rather side with the Institute rather than think about that DLC again.

Morally, yea the Tau and certain craftworlds like Uthwa definitely have the high ground.

The only issue is that the Tau are slightly insignificant on the grand stage and the Eldar tend to be too removed and focused on the survival of their own species.

The Imperium get slotted into the good-guy club mostly for being the only “order” faction really getting shit done. The Tau and Craftworlders aren’t stopping Chaos, the Necron, or the Nids any time soon, at least not alone.

There’s a reason that one of the first things the Yenari did was resurrect G-Man.

The Imperium is sort of the big brutish bulwark against all the evil in the galaxy.

I feel like it’s silly comparing the grimdark 40K with Fallout, which is a little more optimistic.

Before I forget again, Far Harbor was the only time FO4 found a good middle ground, where the player can be good or evil, and be rewarded either way.

And that’s how I feel arguing with you. You don’t even attempt to counter my points. For someone complaining about gamers “ignoring complex morality,” you are quick to villainize half the factions when I try to explain they are more complex than you want to admit.

Yea, those folks definitely missed the plot.

There are generally good people in the Imperium, and the Imperium itself is capable of doing some amazingly good things.

But they are definitely not “good guys”.

I’d love to see a noble-bright alt universe where the great crusade was more peaceful, Maggi Magic never got manipulated, Angron never got nails in his brain, and Horus never fell.

It would be weird for a grimdark setting to have a generally good-guy faction that actually has the power to make a difference.

By the way, this Nintendo Direct has been fantastic. Mario games, F-Zero 99, Paper Mario 2, Another Code… it’s great that Nintendo doesn’t repeat the Farming Anime Direct.

a game populated with surprising set of racial diversities that could even be lore-breaking?

be employed in a fantasy world doing jobs that don’t involve dungeon diving, killing bandits (or anyone for that matter) or selling loot?

where town vendors also sell to bandits, savages or traveling merchants so you’re not left wondering where the weapons and armors you sold to them go to.

where the ongoing war is…ongoing, and 10 vs 15 skirmishes doesn’t start or stop at your convenience, and you sometimes would see its aftermath in your travel.

a game where the guards and factions npcs can’t immediately tell it’s you, the famous main character, if you dress in their uniform and wearing face coverings, so you can blend in the crowd maybe stealing some loot or even enter towns and cities that have banned your for what you did to them and their citizens?

would you like to marry your anime vampire hijabi female companion?

The good news is that PS4 owners can use mods. The bad news is that using them locks you out of trophies. Unless you either don’t care or already got all of them, in which case go nuts.

That’s the bad ending though. The Great Khans are 3rd generation assholes who’s entire history and motivation is to be bandits. The Great Khans are at least better than their 2 previous iterations in that they have a culture now, but that culture only came about after the Followers taught them how to read and make medicine. They used that literacy to cosplay Mongols and that medicine to become drug runners who’s primary clientele are the Fiends.

I personally don’t care too much for the F-Zero series (yeah yeah, call me a pariah, I just like Mario Kart more when it comes to racing games, plus it’s not my fault that their last few games plus the anime was a flop), but F-Zero 99 is actually pretty fun.

Ah but you see, that becomes elsewheres problem while also providing yet another border state to keep the Legion at bay.

Fun fact about Super Mario Bros. Wonder: As stated by Shiro Mouri in an interview, Daisy was made playable because his two daughters would often fight over who got to play as Peach in past Mario games, and was hoping that the fights would be resolved by giving them the option to also play as Daisy. Nonetheless, he also mentions in the interview that he thought that “having Daisy would be something that a lot of Mario fans would be happy with!”.
