Kinda late on this, but I enjoyed the Direct.

Mario got a lot of love, and it’s nice to know that we’re getting a new 2D entry that isn’t just NSMB again.

And of course I was wrong about the MGS Collection being a PS5 exclusive.

I feel like post-Covid, it was brought back more as an obligation than anything else, but the organizers were looking for an excuse to end it and were hoping the quarantine would be enough.

Well, like I said a few years ago, they probably were looking for an excuse to discontinue E3, and figured COVID would be an excuse that no one would question.

Meh, it’s dead anyways.

I kinda miss E3, but the summer online Directs, mass game reveals, and such have been pretty much the same thing.

Regardless, it’s kinda sad it’s another case of the internet replacing something of people and the game industry actually interacting in a public place.

I think it’s too early for DLC for those honestly. Heck, the new Zelda is only a month old.
No offense, but I dunno why people would even want DLC Day/Month 1, as I thought that usually upsets people. (As honestly, Day 1 DLC should be something already included in the game cartridge/disc.)

Plus, too much DLC (even free DLC) is kinda killing physical media.

You forget Mass Effect 3 had day 1 DLC. The industry wants it to be a norm for milking their customers even more.

DLC is fine when it’s a legit expansion of a game, (which helps cut down on unnecessary sequels) adds brand new content to increase the longevity of a game, or to fix game breaking bugs the developers missed.

Though, now it’s become kinda a crutch for releasing unfinished games, or releasing a game in pieces for players to pay extra for…

And this was predicted by the “Johnny Long-Torso” gag in MST3k.

I remember Skyrim when the DLCs were expansions. I’m not arguing against DLCs all together, just that the industry has inbred in the community that the shady/scummy practices are a good thing.

The day one dlc for me3 was more about recouping losses from second hand sales as it was free with a new copy of the game, this policy eventually proved to unpopular and has been mostly phased out hell most day 1 dlcs from EA games are now just perminately free, also most games have mere months to start putting out dlc or it has little chance of selling,

Skyrim DLC aint the worst tho. That would be Horse Armor from Oblivion.

I was using Skyrim as an example of good DLC, for the most part.

Mobile Game:
