Video Game General 2: Definitive/Remastered Edition

So as someone who owns the Sega Genesis Classics compilation for Switch AND the NSO Expansion Pass that gives me a Sega Genesis app, I can’t decide which is the best way to play the games that are on both the compilation and the app. Both options have save states and rewind features but the compilation also has a fast forward feature which I think will really help when it comes to grinding in the RPGs and the in-compilation achievements that you can get as a way of completing the compilation as its own game.
However I bet the emulation accuracy matters the most when it comes to comparing both options and I was wondering if anybody who owns both the compilation and the NSO Expansion Pass can tell me which is a better option to play these games on.

I don’t own the Switch version of Genesis Classics (I own some of the individual games on Steam, including Sonic 3&K which I only bought for 3 AIR since at the time that game was kinda in limbo) nor do I have NSO+EP (because spending 50 bucks a year for retro games isn’t really worth it in my eyes), but from my quick research, the NSO+EP app should have more accurate emulation since it was handled by M2 (same company that did the emulator for the Genesis Mini) whereas Genesis Classics was handled by D3T, and I’ve heard that the D3T collection has input lag.

That said, both should be fine ways to play Genesis games on your Switch.

Chrono Trigger aged surprisingly well. I’ve always liked it when a game technically lets fight the final boss at any point, and it turns out that CT has been doing it 30 years before Breath of the Wild did.

Alot of games did it before “Breath.”

And I love Chrono Trigger, definately one of my favorite 2D RPGs along with EarthBound, Super Mario RPG, FF6, and Luifia 2.

I think both work fine honestly, I never even noticed any input lag in the cartridge Genesis Collection game.

The 2 Sega Genesis Mini systems work pretty good too.

I’ve had a bit of input lag from the compilation while playing The Revenge of Shinobi but I’m slowly getting used to it.
I feel that I might use the compilation for the RPGs just so I can speed up battles and the games that have in-compilation achievements that can be earned.

Huh, I never noticed any lag personally.

Interestingly, the Steam version has a Sonic Archie comic on the ground in the bedroom menu interface. I don’t remember seeing it in the console version.

Danganronpa V3 is one of the games that really influenced my perception of truth and lies.

I always saw its themes as important to me. How even lies can lead to what is good and true.

I guess thats why I don’t mind if a legend is real or not. If Robin Hood never existed, who cares? His example of fighting opression will always be true.

And that ending, sorry I think it was an awesome bittersweet ending.

Saw the new Fable trailer. The second the main character turned around to show a mildly homely chick and the crowd just gasps in shock I was sold, That’s my type of humor. I don’t hate how every game protagonist is Jake or Jane McSupermodel Squarejaw, but i do like the idea of being able to play as someone I’ve just passed on the street for once, especially when it’s making fun of overused fantasy cliches. Plus the giant’s pretentious ramble about vegetables was funny.

It’s like it was made just for me. Still hope the actual gameplay will be good and I’m unsure if its ACTUALLY ingame footage even if it says so, but so far I’m interested.

I’ve picked up Kirby and the Forgotten Land for the first time since November and man, I feel like I’m out of practice with how far I’ve gotten since then.
I know for sure I’m not gonna start over from scratch considering how much a couple certain challenges I’ve beaten were SERIOUS nutcrunchers.

Really? Hmm. I guess you’re just very adaptable to most emulators then. Personally I think that makes the ability to play games on different engines more approachable.

I guess Archie comics caught wind of the cameo before they decided to axe it out of the console versions.

Well I think she’s pretty. Her facial features and proportions are conventionally attractive. She’s also slim figured with tight fitting clothing and if the gameplay is in third person then we gonna see her backside pretty much half the time.

She’s not some dolled up anime figure like Nier’s 2B sure, but I don’t see how she’s not pretty.
