Video Game General 2: Definitive/Remastered Edition

I’m glad I upgraded from a 24” 1080p to a 34” 1440p curved ultrawide. The extra screen real estate is so nice. It’s not just pretty and more immersive, being able to see more helps you play better. If you’re on the fence about ultrawide monitors like I was, I recommend trying one.

Sometimes I mull over how even the simplest of explanations is enough to satisfy a person’s question.

Specifically I’m reminded on Chell’s character model from Portal.

Previously she didn’t have those leg brace things. But play testers asked Volvo why they didn’t get fall damage from dropping a dozen stories up. So Volvo slapped those on her model and gamers simply responded “Ah okay.”

I mean. I would think those little rods would stab her feet if she tried falling on them. But them being there was still enough of an explanation.

A shame about what’s going on with the Saints Row reboot. I actually got a kick out of the character creator that they put out prior to it’s release, but it looks like we have YET ANOTHER Fallout 76 on our hands.

TLDR the most common complaints is tgat its very buggy/glitchy (apparently game breaking levels of bad), and the story/gameplay isn’t that good

Personally I think the game looks fun but I’m gonna hold off on it

Saint’s Row’s stories have never been good TBH. It was always propped up by the sheer absurdity you could get into.

And the first one didn’t really even have that.

I think it looks fun as well. The problem is that a game being mechanically fun doesn’t mean much if you constantly run into game-breaking bugs/glitches. I know it’ll probably get fixed within a year of it’s release (like Cyberpunk and Fallout 76), but this “release now, fix later” trend is getting old.

The only entry ppl seem to universally love is the 2nd game, abd even with the story being a lot darker, it’s still git wacky shit in it.
