Not like other platforms aren't just as bad with shovelware. And it's not Steam's fault, no one good enough has come along to challenge them, besides maybe GoG and they barely have a library. Maybe people wouldn't swear by steam so much if Epic came in and stole games without focusing on being a good platform first.
Also, Early Access isn't all bad, you still get games like Valheim.
