Be warned that apparently the only way to remove the taint once its set in is to edit the game’s files in your registry. Trust me on this, from what I’ve read it takes the happiest ending and makes it nightmarish.

Also, naming your character Frisk, changes things the ruins segment apparently

Lemme put it this way: Pacifist Undertale is fucking brutal. You never level up, and you can’t take advantage of the fact that a murder based run will let you one or two shot everyone after a few levels. It is also the most satisfying and enjoyable. If you really, really want to do a genocide run, save it for a replay.

So it might take a while before I can play the game.  
Also, when you say save it for a replay, do you mean play another run before Genocide?

You’d want to do a pacifist run first. You get the neutral ending your first run no matter what, though if you’ve played it pure pacifist then you’ll be able to just load your first save from before the end and just backtrack to get the last few requirements instead of restarting the whole game.
 
After that do the genocide run if you feel like you really gotta.

I recommend doing it before doing the true ending

Without spoiling anything, because even the neutral ending is FUCKING NUTS, you get it the first time you play the game if not going genocide on it, and basically it only requires you not to go full on murder death kill on everyone. You can kill monsters and bosses, but so long as you’ve spared at least one boss before the point of no return you can avoid the genocide ending.
 
Its worth noting that there are degrees to this.

Actually you’ll get it even if you do make friends with Undyne. The key is to make friends with Alphys, and her event doesn’t seem to unlock until you’ve cleared the game at least once.

I went looking when I found myself in the end fight with Asgore since I’d done a 100% pacifist run up till then. Even backtracked to where her event is supposed to trigger just in case I’d missed anything.
 
I actually like that you need to get the neutral ending at least once, because its one of the most nut shit boss fights I’ve ever encountered in a video game and I love. Fucking god-Flowey man…
