Well he was going to be found alive if there was another season so I’d say the answer is “kinda(???)”

Welp, to quote:
The word cannon can refer to several different things in Transformers:
-Great Cannon, the Decepticon military truck and chest of Battle Gaia from Operation Combination.
-Various weapons, which may or may not be actual cannons:
-The fusion cannon wielded by various Megatrons.
-The Anti-Robot Photonic Multi-Cannon, an anti-Transformer weapon from the Marvel Comics Generation 1 comic book.
-The Anti-thermal cannon wielded by Carnivac.
-The Omega Whip, which is actually a cannon and not a whip, from the Japanese Generation 1 manga.
-Anti-tank cannon, Generation 1 Grimlock’s Action Master partner.
-Big Cannon wielded by Big Convoy in Beast Wars Neo.
-The Hydra Cannon, a large cannon powered by nine Mini-Cons from the Armada cartoon.
-The Matrix Cannon, a Mini-Con weapon from the Armada PlayStation 2 game.
-Riot Cannons, the weapons from Fall of Cybertron.
-Thermo Rocket Cannons, another weapon from Fall of Cybertron.
-The Hyperflux Cannon wielded by Shockwave in Prime.
-Zander Cannon, IDW comic writer.
“Cannon” is also the Japanese name of the Mini-Con Crumplezone.
Cannons should not be confused with:
-Canon, the story material which is considered to affect the overall continuity.
-Canon, the story material which is considered to affect the overall continuity.
-Canon, the story material which is considered to affect the overall continuity.
-CANON AND CANNON ARE DIFFERENT FREAKING WORDS, AND IF YOU TELL US ABOUT HOW SOME STORY IS “NOT CANNON” ONE MORE TIME, WE WILL MURDER YOU.
-With a CANNON.
-Starting with whoever was responsible for Classics Megatron’s packaging.

He added that Ueda had was an extraordinary gag anime director. Koyama noted that he had only found out the other day that Ueda had been fighting cancer for more than a year and a half.
Ueda directed AD Police (pictured at right), H2, Cybuster, The Three-eyed One, Lupin III: Stolen Lupin, Everyday Is Sunday, Don-Don Domel to Ron, Ambassador Magma, Transformers: Armada, Mori no Senshi Bonolon, and Honoo no Alpen Rose: Judy & Randy, among others. He also served as a series director for Toriko for 32 episodes, and served as an episode director for Natsume’s Book of Friends, Heartcatch Precure!, Doteraman, Kamisama Kazoku, Beelzebub, White Album, Osomatsu-kun, and more. if marvel did the transformers comics today it’d probably be similar to what they are doing with the starwars comics:
transformers: the main comic about optimus prime and team
transformers: cybertron: hot rode and the rest face cosmic treats
transformers: optimus prime: his solo comic

I know but this what marvel would likely do if they had the license back if starwars is any induction except maybe unlike starwars they can be apart of the marvel comic universe if it thought well nough

licensing issues would prevent that from happening (that’s what happened to the neo-knights)
