Genetic tinkering leaves obvious traces. Human tampering is too precise and specific, with processes like applied CRISPr being noticeable upon inspection.
The odds of this virus having been manufactured, and for it to have gone unnoticed by every major health body in the world, is astronomically low.
The novel coronavirus is just that, a novel virus. A fluke of nature that we were unfortunate enough to be affected by. No different in origin to the Spanish Flu, or Ebola, a novel virus crossing the species barrier and becoming a problem for us.

- Although people on Twitter still called for the factories to be closed, according to a recent study, most recent Covid cases are sporadic, so they spread from unknowing people instead of clusters.
- On the other hand, Indians are calling Internet users to stop referring the deadly strain as “Indian strain”. They say that it makes people dislike their country just as the usage of “China virus” made people hate Asian people.

It depends, you can find areas where politics is discussed, and done so in a sane way, but if the discussion is limited to just politics you will end up with the crazies who think Trump is jesus or that capitalism is literally slavery.

Seeing how much is spread before governments actually took action, how “easy” is should be to make a cure is irrelevant due to it mutating and adapting.
