Honestly this is the first time I’ve seen it referred to as such. Mostly I just here football or soccer. Don’t hear it used nearly as much as “american football” and other such alternative names.
 
But to get back on the discussion, any teams or games you want to talk about?

Yeah let’s get back to talking about the beautiful game!
 
The main league I watch is the english premier league, my team is Crystal Palace (it’s what CPFC in my username means) and usually got to as many games I can (home and away). We’re 8th in the league at the moment, but could go as high as 5th if we win against Everton on Monday and results tomorrow go our way.

So how are you felling about the rest of the season?  
Southamp, Stoke, Bourne, and Swansea?

Southampton - They’re on a bit of a slump recently (battered by Liverpool and couldn’t even beat Villa), but we never win against them so who knows.  
Stoke - The way they played against Man City today makes me nervous…got some class players!  
Bournemouth - Been unluckly with their injuries, and as such don’t have the strongest squad. Hopefully a win against them on boxing day.  
Swansea - Like Southampton they’ve been on an slump this season. And we did win against them last season, so I’m fairly confident.
 
Plus we have Chelsea (LOL) in the new year at Selhurst Park and have already beaten them at Stamford Bridge. Plus the 3rd round of the FA Cup and I hope we get a good draw.

I don’t really like Soccer. But I understand enough about the sport already.

Also, if you want to refer to “American football” in a way that doesn’t offend Americans, then there’s also the term “gridiron football.”
 
Not offended, just trying to add to everyone’s knowledge of things.

I’m familiar with the term Gridiron football actually :P Although more people are familiar with American football so I use that term when describing the one the folks in the US enjoy more.

Missing Field Goals will cost you.

We got two games in overtime: the Jets/Giants and the 49ers/Bears. Jets/Giants is understandably close, but goddammit Bears you need to stop looking like such a crap team :I

From the Seahawks win today, the NFC North becomes even more hotly contested, and the Seahawks are apparently really looking to take down the Cardinals for that precious top spot. But, as the Cardinals showed today, they’re more than capable of staying on top of things.
 
In other news: Buccaneers pulled off a win, the Bills stayed ahead, the Titans fought tooth and nail for that victory, the Dolphins won solely by their Q2 score somehow, and the Bengals… well it was probably obvious from the start.

Well the missed Field goals are the main reason why the Bears lost to the 49ers.

And now we watch a complete triple thrashing courtesy of the Broncos, the Panthers, and the Patriots. All at the same time.
 
I can see the Chiefs/Raiders game going in favor of KC, but we’ll see. Should be more of a close game than anything else going on now.

Im still pissed that what the Seahawks done during the end of the Superbowl.
 
For Gods sake, you have a guy on your team who’s nickname is BEAST MODE!
 
He was blasting through everyone for the entire SEASON! Why did you go for a pass instead of giving it to Lynch!?!

In other news, the Panthers have clinched the NFC South. All thanks to the Buccaneers victory.

You know what I wondered the same with Frank Gore against the Ravens in the Harbowl Superbowl.
 
You are what 3 yards away from the end zone but getting stopped at the ONE is a lot worse. So I laugh every time I see this meme posted.

Well only a Cheater can beat a cheater. Pete Caroll is also a cheater in NCAA but the NFL is completely different and to me it’s the best thing ever.

On the one hand, I would’ve loved to see the two undefeated teams (Patriots/Panthers) at the Super Bowl. It would’ve been the most hype thing in all of human history.

The last one they went to they lost to Jon Gruden and the Buccaneers .

The Broncos came out of basically nowhere and suddenly completely surpressed the Patriots in OT. They pretty much effortlessly made a drive to a touchdown. It was beautiful.
 
The Raiders have been to the Super Bowl five times: three wins and two losses.

And like I said the last Superbowl they lost to Jon Gruden who was the coach of the Raiders before he became a coach of the Buccaneers.
