Lindsay Ellis made a video on Woke Disney, and I passed on it for obvious reasons, but I have to wonder: Why do people hate Disney and other corporations so much for being faux liberal, that tends to be well liked by people it’s trying to represent, but stuff like Steven Universe that actively gets criticized by the people it’s trying to represent, gets a free pass? I would say it’s just their capitalist hate boner, but CN is also a corporation, so what the hell?
Because Steven Universe is made by an LGBT woman. So it doesn’t count (in their mind) as a “woke brand” and instead as something “meaningful.”
AKA: It’s their personal ego trip.
Meanwhile Disney is the corporate thing to hate if you want to publicly masturbate without doing any work. And “Woke Brands” alongside “Rainbow Capitalism” is just a way for white liberals to virtue signal.
And also Ellis was pushing conspiracy theories about the Conservative freakout over black Ariel, so I’m pretty sure that she’s only on this track as a cover for her racist bullshit.
I thought Lily would be okay with conservatives being bad mouthed. Ironically enough didn’t some of the people defending Black Ariel freak out over Prince Eric still being a white man also isn’t Lily talking about her self her and not Ellis?
