Word on the street is NC GOP gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson is facing pressure by the Trump campaign to step aside from the race as reports suggest CNN is preparing to publish a damning story on him.

I’m honestly surprised. We already know he’s an antisemite, a Holocaust denier, an extreme homphobe, and a misogynist who believes women are unintelligent. What could possibly be so damning that would make even Trump cringe?

I’m kinda on the fence in relation to the Musk vs Brazil stuff…

It’s way too late for the GOP to put in another candidate, that would basically be ceding the slot to the Dems.

But it’s also a massive hypocrasi. Since Musk did censorship on Twitter on behalf of both Turkey and Saudi-Arabia and Biden didn’t condemn that at all.
This has nothing to do with election strategy, this is just plain old corruption. If democrats wanted to win all they had to do is look at a list of what the American people want that is executable and do that and they would crush the current republicans with ease every time. But they are far too corrupt to do that.

Republicans now want to roll back Biden’s cheaper drug policy. Even though it’s already super, ultra watered down it’s still too much. They believe big pharma should reap all the rewards from taxpayer investment.

That’ll end well for them. It always ends well for them when they attack popular medical policies.

Why would they give that money back by lowering drug prices? They can just keep the money and raise prices anyway.
Trump promises a factory in Cleveland I believe wouldn’t leave and gave them a massive subsidy for not leaving. They just took the money and left anyway and Trump didn’t say anything about it.

But I do get what you mean. There is this tendency to view capitalism only in the ideal theoretical scenario of how it’s supposed to work. Not the complex real world of power, local markets, imperfect humans, assymerical power, propaganda, inelastic markets and many other things.
I have had it often when I criticize some aspect of capitalism people lecture me in how capitalism is supposed to work. I know how it’s supposed to work but the textbook of high school is not the real world.

Many don’t know this. They believe Biden had “open borders” even though Biden kicked out more people than Trump did.

The problem with publicly saying out loud that you support Palestine is that due to propaganda, people will think that you support Hamas. It also doesn’t help that some of the protests had people defacing and vandalizing statues, especially the time when they harassed a park ranger protecting a statue of Jean-Baptiste Rochambeau.

Most people though do want the US to stop. Especially as Netenyahu is antagonizing Iran.
The problem is that they still have this dellusion of needing to go right when they need to go left to appeal to more people. Republicans got away with decades of unpopular policy cause they have a strong and reliable base and democrats need to have the same. They need a strong base of leftists that they can count on and who they will serve.
