The right wing have been using the fact the Nashville shooter was trans as further excuse to hate trans people for anything and everything. All while ignoring most of the shooters in the past 5 years were non trans dudes.

one trans shooters means all trans people are gun toting christian hating monsters who cant be trusted with a firearm, 200 plus regular guys shooter who write psychotic manifestos somehow means absolutely nothing and its not actually that big a deal, in fact we need more guns for everyone.

I heard a blurb about this and sure enough, the shooter drew some pony art on Furaffinity, and now bronies are being linked to it. And from what I saw, it’s just 2 fucking images. 2 years ago the fandom caught heat because the FedEx shooter was one, and now it’s catching heat again.

You make it sound like supporting bigotry. But it’s the opposite, it’s fighting bigotry. It’s a vaccine. It’s denying a virus new victims.

Additionally I’d like to note that there is a difference between someone who was for example misinformed about the BLM protests (believing they were all very violent and destructive) and someone who is a KKK member. Pretending that the former is the latter and giving up on them only helps racism spread.

TL;DR bigotry is a spectrum, not a binary divide.

Also, the right wing paleo-conservativism the Republican Party is bending towards is not fascism. Conflating racism, queerphobia and general bigotry with fascism is a fool’s errand

In a bit of goodish news for LGBT+ issues, Disney outsmarted Ron DeathSentence.

In a move of actual 4D chess. The outgoing board of the Reedy Creek Improvment put in place a series of restrictive covenants and resolutions that, in effect, completely locks down the board for the next 50 years or so.

The measures are so restricted that the incoming board of Ron’s handpicked cronies can do little more than maintain the roads and sewers. Everything else was handed directly to Disney.

The best part is it is 100% legal and there is very little that Ron can do about it.

I almost think this shooter hates trans.

How many trans people are going to die or have their life unhinged because of this?

Did they ever stop to think about the world they left for their trans brethren? No. Only their own vengeful narcissism.

I do not stand behind this Nashville shooter. They are an enemy to any self respecting trans. They do not realize how much suffering they brought onto fellow trans people.

We where supposed to be the better people. Most of us are.

The publicity the Adams County sheriff’s office got from suing Afroman for “emotional distress” is a great example of the Streisand Effect. I wouldn’t have known about the whole thing and watched the videos he made making fun of them if the crooked cops didn’t file a frivolous lawsuit.

As nice and concise as Umberto Eco’s Ur-Fascism is, it is a self-defeating description of fascism because it then also later says none of the rules written need to exist in a given state in their totality and nations which are not fascist may all the same have the same rules as an active part of their politics. As such, he commits the sin of being Anglo in his political philosophy.

One may even, gazing through the brief history of the modern era (since the French Revolution) find states which have much of this list as an actually existing component of their national politics, but were not decidedly fascist. And I will happily declare any bastard who calls my boy, the Bringer of Modernitie Napoleon I a fascist a lazy cowardly cur and possibly a German Junker who deserves as bad a fate as they should have received.

I mean hell half of the list probably is even applicable to [city state redacted]

Also over time i found that labeling someone as a fascist really doesn’t do much except as a sort of personal moral condemnation. Personally I am much more interested in what individual beliefs on certain topics on maybe swaying them on those thus over time maybe adjusting their lens in which they view the world and pulling them away from fascist ideology. Would love to see what you think.
